RECORDING 6: THE SECOND TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where you first met Todd. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Olympia, staring balefully at you in all of her robotic glory.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice...is up to you.

VICTIM: JACK MORRISON
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 1

WEEK 2 VOTING

...The only person I think could use earth magic doesn't fit the footprint.

... could it be there was more than one person? I know there's no further evidence to suggest that, but if the small person asked Jack to the greenhouse they might have asked others.

There's something I've been wondering too. If eating the apple would probably kill him, why did the killer make the plants grow too? Just to hide his body?

That... might be possible.

It was Mr. Subete. He has a power that lets him... command elements? But he said that some things are harder to control than others.

If the King can sense magic I wonder if he can compare the magic in the seed to everyone here? Like I do with scent?

I did attempt to do so earlier with the piece of paper.

[ But since it's the seed and there's something unfamiliar about it, maybe he'll be able to pick it out now.

So let's try the magic comparison to everyone who's capable of it now, featuring: seed edition. Though he's focusing his comparison efforts on Carona, Yuri, Flayn, Nanaka, and Haku, since lol normies and Rin's out of the running. ]

[Yes yes, let me just perform a Connect, since that's the most obvious form of magic I can show.

Who wants to have a buff to multi-target attacks and have the effects of the miasma halved for like 6 seconds?

Either way, it sure is water element tinted.]

It's the same result as last time.

[ So nothing concrete, as he assumed it would end up as. ]

...

Has... anyone ever seen Jack's handwriting?

[He looks kind of amused, actually.]

I'm afraid my power isn't that convenient, Marona. Techniques are defined in a relatively precise way. My earth-aligned abilities would affect just the soil -- not the plants growing in them. And it goes without saying that planting something inside a human being would not count either.
oxidegreen: (Looking ahead.)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-04-25 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. So it's like what Mr. Haku was talking about, where growing plants would need both earth and water-based power - it needs too many things at once?

We keep talking about combining magic being hard. But could two people work together to make a complicated effect? Say someone using earth and someone using water?

[personal profile] tsunderine 2020-04-25 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
... I will say that this is a possibility.

I will also say that there might be some magic users that can use both at once.

[here's one of them]

So we're right back where we started.
noneforall: (未)

[personal profile] noneforall 2020-04-25 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's more like... plants are not an element? In Haku's case, it sounds like the elemental rules in his world work rather differently from my own.
dreamshielder: (listening intently)

[personal profile] dreamshielder 2020-04-25 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe the spell was initially intended to make plants grow in the greenhouse and Morrison agreed to help.

[Eventual food shortage problem, etc.]
ghostricked: (Oh but the cat came back)

[personal profile] ghostricked 2020-04-25 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
And he was exploded into a tree on accident? If it was a normal seed I could see the small person not realizing a seed in his belly would grow alongside everything else. But since it's poison there's no way they wouldn't know it was hurting him. Hmm...

[ "earth" in tales pretty much just means rocks and dirt, don't look at him!! ]
