RECORDING 6: THE SECOND TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where you first met Todd. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - Olympia, staring balefully at you in all of her robotic glory.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice...is up to you.

VICTIM: JACK MORRISON
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 1

WEEK 2 VOTING

...I met Miss Flayn at the greenhouse shortly before I headed off to sleep that night. She was tending to the plants there, but I did not see any fully grown plants at that time, beyond the ones that Marona grew.

[oh dear]

Ah... was Jack-san there at the time, or...?
white_camellia: (Normal Sad)

[personal profile] white_camellia 2020-04-25 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
He was not. As far as I am aware, it was just the two of us.

Nanaka-san, I hate to ask questions of you this time around, also, but you said you're familiar with witches. Are you familiar with the magic circle that was found?

Magic in my world does not use those sorts of things, so I am afraid not.

Of course, it's unlikely for one to believe that, so... I suppose I will have to show you what I mean.

[Congratulations! You ge tthe full minute long transformation sequence that f4samurai will never give us, because in this story she's actually something of a main character instead of a side-character. There are a lot of water and ripple allusions.]

[And with that done, Nanaka jumps away from everyone else for a second.]

You see, the nature of my wish means that I mostly have magic which would be considered to be mostly physical. My primary trick is this:

[With that, she pulls out her two swords, slashes the air with them... And four more swords appear to slash the area surrounding the first slash.]

There is no need for things like a magic circle. As long as I can concentrate, I can use most of my abilities. The harshest one is probably Connecting to people, but there has not been any meaning to doing so thus far.

I see...

Ah, thank you for the demonstration.

It is no trouble at all. In this occasion, I actually did have a way to prove my innocence, after all.

[Let her just. Put her swords away and then hop back to her previous spot, because now that she's a magical girl there is no reason not to do pointless acrobatics.]

...For the record, none of Flayn’s abilities could possibly contribute to something like this.

Does she have any knowledge of magic circles?
baitless: he looks a bit tired, but less intensely so. (how vaguely and unhelpfully can i put it)

Well, obviously she is extremely skilled in magic, but nothing in our world’s magic systems resembles the symbol that was found in connection with all of this.

That doesn't rule out that she may have found the symbol here or while an agent though.

Pardon. May I speak for myself?

I have not seen such a symbol before, no. My studies focus on healing magic and combat magic almost exclusively. Healing magic has a variety of applications...warding, teleporting, but at present I am only able to use spells to heal, fight, and transport individuals from a distance. Nosferatu is also rather unique for a healing spell.

[ Look, he's trying to help. ]

Would you magic linger once it's used, or will it fade after you use it? And have you ever tried applying your healing magic to plants?
lightreaching: (✧ noblewoman's laugh)

[personal profile] lightreaching 2020-04-25 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe magic can be used in gardening in my realm, if I recall correctly...but no, I have not tried it myself. The spells I have are for mending wounds, not encouraging growth. I realize they may seem similar, but the difference would be vital, as there would be nothing "wounded" about the plants to mend, should I attempt to heal them.

Were the plants dying, infected, or otherwise "wounded" that would be a different story, however.

As for leaving traces, there might be, yes, if the spell is powerful enough.

Would "poison" register as an infection or a natural way of said plant?

[i know nothing about magic]

[personal profile] lightreaching 2020-04-25 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
If it is a natural part of the plant's biology...? I would think not. But I cannot say for sure. This is not an area of magic I specialize in by far.

It's hard to say how your magic would interact then with these plants or even this atmosphere.

We'll take that into account, of course.

... however... you do have reason to defend her, Seteth-san. So we'll also have to bear that in mind, as well. Please understand we'll look at all possible angles.

I understand the sentiment, Seteth-san. I also would rather not imagine it, but as a detective, it is my job to consider the evidence.
