After everything, the house seems almost too still and too mundane. At least as long as the doors to that room remain closed. One by one those covered in what was once their teammate are lead to the showers or change in silence. There is no warm meal waiting for them. No words of encouragement.

Life goes on, regardless.

[Battler is...also here, in a makeshift toga because he didn't feel like wearing any of his other clothing before he's had a chance to take a shower.

He managed to wipe off the worst of it, but there's still stiff, dried blood in his hair, darkening the red as he kneels down nearby and scrubs in as much cold water as his hands can stand.

There's a moment of quiet silence, before he speaks.]

[The kitchen is as woefully bare as ever, though Haku is filling a canister of water when Gilgamesh passes through. When spoken to, he turns off the faucet and glances over his shoulder with a small smile.]

Though, right then and there Romani had just said something to him that sounded unacceptable. In a way, he was glad to hear that was what the other thought, because it meant he could deal with it in his own way (which...may or may not be great.) ]

[ He'll reach over, hand aiming to try to scruff him by the collar, enough to force him to his feet as he was sitting due to having writing in the notebook. ]

Tell me, who was the one that set up the meeting this week?! Who was the one who sacrificed his sleep to watch over that mongrel and that other fool so that they can be well? Are you going to go ahead and tell me some other imbecile went ahead and did that? I invite you to try my patience further if you dare to go ahead with such insolence!

You are useless and powerless when you throw yourself stupidly and impotently into the battlefield where you don't belong! [ the force which romani says that with shocks him as well. it's firm and full of determination-- he can't let battler think that way about himself in that way. ]

Maybe I was wrong in trying to sacrifice myself. If I had been more powerful, or...or...less of a coward, I could've done something else, something better to help you and the team in that moment. But if there's someone that deserves help and kindness, it's you.

[ he pauses for a moment, so it can sink in for battler. ]
