Opinions without 3.1415 are just Onions (Week1 post trial)

After everything, the house seems almost too still and too mundane. At least as long as the doors to that room remain closed. One by one those covered in what was once their teammate are lead to the showers or change in silence. There is no warm meal waiting for them. No words of encouragement.

Life goes on, regardless.

[That gives Haku pause for a moment. He isn't sure what answer he was expecting, but the one he's given seems to relax him. Taking a deep breath, he sets the canister in the crook of an arm, then faces Gilgamesh properly.]

I have seen worse.

[It's a quiet admission, though probably not one that's surprising given his rather mild reaction to the Sho bomb from yesterday. And sure enough, his hands aren't shaking either.]

I suppose if anything... I'm annoyed. [A mild way of putting it to be sure.]

[ He had his suspicions of that being the case, precisely because of that reaction to the bomb fiasco, really.

Not to mention towards the end of it all, what with the specter showering them with...the remains and the subsequent reactions.

Though, even though Haku stated it mildly, he imagined the annoyance was about the same levels as his own, really. Even if he couldn't be completely sure, realistically speaking, it's what he's decided. ]

In that case, it is unsurprising that you are. There was a sea of idiocy yesterday, chief of which belonged to our so-called ex-associate. Not to mention the ridiculous follow-up by the specter.

[a sea of idiocy, huh. Haku doesn't laugh, barely even smiles really, but there's an amused glint in his eyes.]

It was an unnecessary spectacle from start to finish. That he may be the new vessel is all the more troubling for it.

[Ah yes, glimmers of salt poking through, don't mind him.]

On the bright side, this may motivate those who were close to him to locate the core with greater urgency.

[But on the other hand that can also be a downside with this bunch. And though he suspects Gilgamesh feels that just as much as he does, he'll leave it at that for now.]

I should hope not. Though, it may be a blessing in disguise if he were. That Reaper loved to hear the sound of his voice so much that you would think he'd be married to it...surely he'd end up being quite loose-lipped as a result. Which we would be wise to use to our advantage.

[ A slight smirk on his lips, as a hint of his own amusement among this salty ocean shimmers through. He doubted it would be as easy as taking candy away from a babe, but even though it would prove to be a great annoyance, he could imagine what they were to gain from it.

He was always thinking of the possibilities of how they may earn their success, even now. Mostly out of pure spite now. ]

That it may. Even if they may be somewhat...occupied with themselves tonight, given today's circumstances. That said, they should also be cognizant that what we experienced today would be undoubtedly just a taste of what the creature would love to throw at us. Unless they're intent on following him on that very same trip to the underworld.

[ As always, his words were harsh and most of the time spoken without reserve. It helped that, yes, he knew exactly what kind of crowd they were dealing with. ]

I hadn't considered that possibility. It seems.... optimistic, though it would be quite the pleasant surprise if he proved to be more useful in death.

[But judging from his tone, he's not holding out hope here. Haku hadn't known Sho particularly well, but the short exchange they did have did press a bad nerve in the end. Maybe it's petty to be speaking ill of the dead, but after yesterday he's really not giving a shit about that. Woops..??]

I was planning on keeping a closer eye on some individuals in the coming days. I doubt many here explicitly have a death wish, but the lengths some appear willing to go in order to acquire information of questionable value is... troublesome. I'd rather not have any further bursts of miasma unleashed in the house.

[ If anything, Gilgamesh hardly took offense. The Reaper had given them more than enough trouble than he had been worth, especially in the culmination in his efforts to literally, well.

Kill the hell out of them. He had no respect for someone who would've done such a thing, and if it weren't for the rules, he would've easily have gone to finish the man himself. ]

That it would. At the very least, it'd meant he'd have contributed something useful to the group at last.

[ Though, there was a slight frown. ]

As you should; I intend to even keep some vigilance myself. Even without others causing something like that to be unleashed, there were some mongrels who seem to have a talent for angering the creature when we're still at a disadvantage.

It would be simpler if at least our side could be wholly trusted not to sabotage the objective -- inadvertently or otherwise.

[He shakes his head. Frankly, he's not used to working in a group this large, and given that the Foundation ought to know a task force this haphazardly put together would only prove to be detrimental, he's not exactly sure just how much they really value the life of this particular agent they were meant to find.]

Who will you be watching?

That's the problem when you have many fools who do whatever they please without regard of the situation they're in.

[ Granted, part of the solution would be to think things through because other than a case of...some special ignorance like earlier on with that bomb—no, he's not forgetting that—he believed they'd simply have been able to deal with this problem better. ]

Whoever I decide to. It could be the mongrel who shot himself, the fools who angered the specter—there were many to choose from.
