Week 2 Mingle

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.
The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.
On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.
Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

[That sucks.]
Even so... it's good to try.

Well, we can't just expect to sit around and wait to be rescued unless we actually do something. As small as the chances are, I'll take what I can get.

[He's a pretty regular teen, though, so figuring out things to do to get out of this place has resulted in a fat load of ???]

[Ripley taps a finger against her chin, her eyebrows furrowed in thought. As resourceful as she thinks herself to be, there's only so many ways you can get into contact with other people.]
What other sort of magic do you have at your disposal?
no subject
[He's contemplative for a long moment.]
Basic elemental stuff? So like--fire, ice, lightning... Healing spells, and buffing spells, like to help people move faster or be tougher.
no subject
[Ripley thinks for a moment.]
I'm guessing you might've tried using the fire to melt the snow...maybe buffing spells might be useful to other people?
no subject
I'm okay with using them if people do need a pick-me-up of some kind...unfortunately everything I've got was weakened pretty substantially, but it's still something, right?
So just let me know if you need anything like that at any point, okay?

[A small smile greets her face.] I know this situation is pretty shitty, but...thank you.
no subject
[He hasn't felt very useful since coming here, that's for sure...
Which is why he just offers her a small smile in return.]
I think I should be thanking you. You've been keeping all of us alert and moving forward, you know...? We're lucky to have you here.
[Even if she's not really lucky to be here, oops.]

Hell, she doesn't want to be the tough-as-nails person all the time, always focused on survival, of getting people out of impossible situations. But under these circumstances, with these stakes, does she have a choice?]
Thanks. I appreciate it. [A pause.] I just wish the circumstances were different--I could've maybe treated you guys to some pizza or something.
[A place where she didn't have to act as a tough military-trained officer.]
no subject
Let's... make that a "definitely", instead of a "could've", okay?
I'll be looking forward to it, when we get out of here and can enjoy ourselves more.
no subject
[Still, she...really appreciates it.]
You ever been to New York City? Me and my wife were thinking of moving there--better air quality than Luna. And better food.
no subject
[Contemplatively:]
They're supposed to have good pizza there, right?
no subject
[There's a grin again. Ah, the ingenuity of Italian Americans.]
A lot of people here seem to be from Japan, huh? Maybe I should visit, myself.
[If...uh...they ever find a way around that weird time gap...]
no subject
You should. We can trade off--but first, pizza, because you offered.
[Food!! He won't forget.]
I'm pretty sure our pizza in Japan is pretty different, so I'm counting on you. [He's not being serious, it's fine. It's just... nice to talk about something a bit more lighthearted.]
no subject
Yeah, not even Italians have anything on New York pizza. Italians. The inventors of pizza.
[She crosses her arms.] Maybe you can confirm the authenticity of New York sushi, huh?
no subject
It's gonna blow his mind.]
That good, huh...? Now I'm even more excited.
That sounds fun too... Like a cultural exchange thing. Sushi and pizza... Dinners of champions.
