WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

[ She'll look over to Yoyo, Roxy, and Blueski for a moment. Then she'll crouch down and try to roll them over to see who is it. ]

Yeah he's been real quiet over here and did creep a little closer, but also, pool of massive blood made him stop in his tracks. So, yeah... ]

[Dead bodies are bad?? This is actually only the second one she's seen but she's started to be braced for these things. Just a bit. So Blue Angel starts forward and she's going to loop-de-loop her whip around an arm or something to turn the person over instead.

[In the DINING ROOM not the lobby, but still near a fireplace.

It's hard to tell at first, because the face of this person is absolutely destroyed. There's a broken jaw and nose, with blood and bits of teeth everywhere. Her clothes are drenched in blood, coming from both her broken face and some wounds on her chest. But it's hard to miss her black hair, and her gold butterfly pin is a key detail that will help reveal her identity.

Akiko Yosano is dead.]

[With a blank expression, Yoshi will walk over, crouching to get a good look.

Any more details his math eyes can glean...?]

[He'll be able to see three bullets still sitting in her chest, since they didn't shoot all the way through. And given that one pierced her heart, that is a good sign of it being the cause of death.]

There's three bullets, one pierced her heart. Someone shot her to death.

I hope they did it before... [ You know. That would be very very painful. ]

[If it's any consolation, it does indeed look like her jaw got broken after she died.

Because there is some smeared blood and bits of face on the tile of the fireplace, right on the edge where it dips down from 'fireplace' to 'floor'.]

[It takes a few moments for her to mentally prep herself, but since Nanashi is there already she'll push herself to crouch by him. And definitely gingerly because there's bits everywhere. Eugh.]

... Were all of them aiming for her heart? It looks like she got hit pretty hard with something.

[They were not! It looks like whoever shot her was aiming for her chest in general, not specifically her heart.]

[He shakes his head.]

No... just her chest.

It looks like her jaw was broken after she was already shot. But... why?

[It's a lot easier to look at the bits, though, than it is to look at the actual corpse. So she... contemplates the bits.]

They're on the edge there, right? Maybe she fell. Or they wanted to hide something else...

[Does it look like the doctor could have smashed her own face in or does it look more like something other than the fireplace did it?]

[Given the way her hair is mussed up on the back of her head, it looks more like someone stepped on it than her breaking her jaw in the fall.]

...Someone just killed her like that, even though someone else already died.

Staff

[ She'll walk over and snag his arm. ]

Yeah, isn't it against the rules? Let's go ask the staff.

[ Come on! She'll pull him along. ]

Why was Yosano killed?

[ Because clearly they're going to answer that. Right? ]

And why isn't there anyone over the loudspeaker announcing it?

[The staff member pauses for a bit, regarding Yosano's body. It's almost like they are trying to load an answer of some sort?

And then suddenly the staff member perks up.]

Oh! She refused to play the game, so the Cleaner took care of her.

[ She'll stop as soon when Aoi says something. She's still crouching down on the floor. ]

I know where's it's been. Right here on the-

[ Oh that's not very nice. ]

Whoa. It's the pretty lady doctor.

[She's going to go back a step, putting a hand over her mouth and turning pale because yeah, that's. A lot. At least it was before breakfast, so there's less incentive to hurl at this point, but still.

Blue Angel's going to busy herself with the tablet. The whip is getting unsummoned immediately and she'll deal with it... later. Unless she needs it again.]

... Yeah. Yosano-san.

[She had to look up the profile to be able to tell.]

There wasn't an announcement.

It also wasn't Thursday, right? Maybe this was something else?

[ Hmm ] Do you think she made the Captain really really mad?

[She's still fumbling with the tablet, uncharacteristically slow-fingered.]

Right. The Thursday rule. But it never said people couldn't kill on other days, just that -- it only counts as a trial murder that day.

[Which is also a really arbitrary rule, but there's some kind of realization there. They're never safe, huh?]

I don't know if it's the Captain. And we can't ask.
