ROUND 5 WATCHING POST
Everyone who was there in some shape or form for the meeting on March 1st gets a notice that soon, the location where they'll have to go to watch what happened in the Winchester Incident will be made available for them. Frisk requests a list of those going to see what happened, but doesn't seem to discourage high numbers.
And shortly before the 30th, those that signed up will finally get a name and place - The Hayes Mansion, only a little bit away by drive from the Winchester House. As they drive, the more magically inclined might be able to sense a powerful barrier emanating from the direction the Winchester House is located, though they'll be unable to see anything.
Arriving there, they'll find that any and all other guests have been removed from the Hotel resort, and there's a sign on the door saying that it is Closed for major renovation and fumigation, which would explain the outfits you were given to be 'seen' walking into the place with, as well as all the vans and 'containers' you were told to put your belongings into.
Once inside, a helpful staff member directs you to put the costumes into a specific bin for collection- unless, of course, you would like to keep wearing them - and then another directs you to the front desk, where a pleasant, yet authoritative man is waiting.
WEEK ONE RECAP
[claps everyone to attention]
I think we need a recap on everything so that everyone is caught up. And I also found some information based on what's come up through a quick search online, so.
What we know so far:
One - the house is cursed by some sort of spiritual, ghost thing. It's been there for decades. Other people who actually experienced it can elaborate more on that. A follow up on that is that, as of right now, people with divine powers or nullification seem to negate it. We did see Dazai's ability do something pretty significant to the vessel, so that's something to note... Anyway, this might change in the future, so keep your eyes open.
Two - Rooms seem to move around by week, based on the note Rin found.
Three - Do not, under any circumstances, use anything demonic on the goddamn curse. Make sure you know what you have when we decide to go there.
Four - The vessel they met at the beginning of the week is named Todd. Searching it up, I got a full name: "Todd Mcnamara". There's a missing persons report around early November 1999 that says that five people, alongside him, went missing. They're all college students from this area, and strangely enough... the family members did remember about their existence. So, if anybody wants to craft theories based on that, feel free.
Five - More on the vessel: apparently he feels his death constantly. Also, I'll add that there were a lot of spider-related details brought up. You might want to look up the the poem, The Spider and the Fly by Mary Howitt. Although it's good to mention that his eyes turned entirely purple, too.
Six - regarding the game, apparently the vessel looked confused as to why they decided to make it a murder game? Like saying stuff like 'because we wanted to' and 'it seemed like something we should do'... which is strange.
Seven - There's a note in the staff bedroom that was dated in August 1922, talking about tasks to complete. That's 78 years before the year these tapes were in. They also found a pair of boots that are a part of a Foundation uniform. There were also Foundation uniforms found in the dressing room as well.
Eight - There are traps in the house. Please keep this in mind.
Nine - Battler seems to have noticed that, by looking outside, the entire city is gone, and the sky has gone silver. Like past the remote area, there's just nothing, and there are silver threads and no sun in the sky. Also the bodies of everyone else that didn't join the twenty-nine were found, half-melted.
And as for the first murder and trial, I know it's fresh in everyone's minds, but I'll repeat the basics anyway: Olympia was the one who was found dead. It was an accident due to the fact that Sho Minamoto is a stubborn man who can't take no for an answer. Anyway, the correct culprit was executed, a new vessel has been chosen, and people did their own thing the rest of the weekend. We'll probably hear more on Monday.
I think that's it. . . let me know if I missed any other vital information that might have come up, but that's most of it.
Feel free to share any theories and thoughts. Oh, also, I will say I can't see any of the ghost antics so if anybody 'goes ghost' and isn't part of the...vessel, someone else might have to speak on that.
Re: WEEK ONE RECAP
oh wait cw spider murder talk
[internally screaming]
[does not actually scream]
Honestly, hearing it like that makes me surprised that my body wasn't found half-melted back at the Hotel.

I've been slowly going through the SCP database for Arachnid-like incidents and eliminating what does not fit. It is highly unlikely it is something that has been recorded, but better to be sure and not end up overlooking anything.
There is a surprisingly large amount of them.

Check one of the robots to see if they have a soul. We have someone who can do that.
[so either Wheatley or Gebura]
Unless going inside that place does something to robots-slash-androids.

What worries me though is... the ghosts were saying that someone from the last group was still alive, right? And the agents were talking about how that's probably Tages. So if Tages is the one who made the barrier, and he was the final survivor of a group that had already gone in by then...
...
Just how long has he been able to keep that power up...? And why is it fading now?
no subject
[she doesn't comment on that, but she does seem to be thinking? like was it just during when the barrier wasn't in place? did they remember when the barrier was up, too? hm.]
And yeah, they did.
I think it's probably him, too.
And based on what Battler said, my theory right now is that the inside of that place is another dimension entirely. Kind of like what happened with the ones involved with the... Witch incident?
Like maybe it 'exists' on our plane and time, but the insides are somewhere else entirely different?
It's just a guess, though.
I want to say the 1922 note was from the last Foundation group because that's where the boots were found, but I could be completely off base, there... since that doesn't make any sense to me. I couldn't tell you about abilities though, given that's not my specialty. But holding up something like that for a long period of time is probably taxing.
cw spider...stuff
The arachnid theories are interesting, but I do not think we are dealing with a jorugumo. [he strokes his chin thoughtfully] The jorugumo does not make a nest or a web, it is a hunting spider. It also doesn't wait for its prey to liquefy, instead extracting everything it can at once. Corpses are left looking mummified, not melted. If this is an arachnoid entity, I believe it is one the Foundation has yet to categorize.
[he pauses, taking a cup of tea from somewhere "offscreen" from the hologram, taking a sip, then setting it back down]
... Tell me, have any of you encountered the "Dionaea House" creepypasta collection? It came up while I was researching the concept of living houses after our adventure at the Hotel California.

What specifically about it, though?

[he takes out his phone and reads a quote;]
"Those who know, we consume. To those who doubt, we appeal. From those who believe, we hide. Those who know, we are. Those who know, WE CONSUME. There is no escape."
Sounds a bit familiar, hm?
[he scrolls through more] This house also puppets former victims for its own purposes... It's not exactly the same, but perhaps this story is based on a real phenomena on another plane of existence.

... Oh. Oh god. Uh... Okay, has anyone come out of the house we're looking at at all? Because there's some differences here.
