ROUND 5 WATCHING POST
Everyone who was there in some shape or form for the meeting on March 1st gets a notice that soon, the location where they'll have to go to watch what happened in the Winchester Incident will be made available for them. Frisk requests a list of those going to see what happened, but doesn't seem to discourage high numbers.
And shortly before the 30th, those that signed up will finally get a name and place - The Hayes Mansion, only a little bit away by drive from the Winchester House. As they drive, the more magically inclined might be able to sense a powerful barrier emanating from the direction the Winchester House is located, though they'll be unable to see anything.
Arriving there, they'll find that any and all other guests have been removed from the Hotel resort, and there's a sign on the door saying that it is Closed for major renovation and fumigation, which would explain the outfits you were given to be 'seen' walking into the place with, as well as all the vans and 'containers' you were told to put your belongings into.
Once inside, a helpful staff member directs you to put the costumes into a specific bin for collection- unless, of course, you would like to keep wearing them - and then another directs you to the front desk, where a pleasant, yet authoritative man is waiting.

Maybe it wasn't strong enough. . .?

I guess an option would have been to contain the staff member. . . but I can't say much since I wouldn't have been able to do much in that sort of situation myself.

[Yeah, Ellie... may have overestimated the staff member's capabilities a bit.]

I'm surprised they didn't get rid of her earlier--
No, they 'forgot', so they couldn't, and stayed hidden? Like a virus trying to blend in with the rest of the cells, but the fact that it was 'cursed' made it in a state that would be easier to kill, maybe?
no subject
It's probably safe to assume that the barrier and the the blanking out is an attempt to counter the curse... Though with mixed effectiveness. It still couldn't help the staff member, after all.
no subject
Like a quarantine? You keep the curse contained so that nobody else can catch it and try to erase as much traces of it as you can. If nobody remembers the situation, then it isn't an issue.
Nobody would go and bother trying to dig into it and cause more people to get infected.
Or something like that? Obviously I'd guess that holding it up for a long period of time is a lot, though.

[ IT'S A HALF JOKE HERE BECAUSE SOMEONE HAD TO SAY IT ]
It seems a little more complex.
I'm not good with power-related crap, though, so maybe we should actually push our assumptions aside and maybe, at some point, you know.
Ask properly if someone knows what the guy's power was?
no subject
[...Yeah, the joke goes completely over her head.]
But yes, that is the plan. Frisk is probably the only one who can actually tell us that, though, so we'll need to wait for him to contact us again.

It's an inside joke.

We dealt with the person who was trying to kill us first and then cleaned up what was left of the fog she was actively making more of afterward, yes.

Well, I guess it's not worst case scenario.

[Sigh.]
I'm sorry I snapped at you. A lot happened.

I'm not mad or anything.

I'm glad, too. I have a good idea as to what would happen, and it wouldn't be. Good.
