Week 4

It finally happened. Someone murdered, and was punished for it. After a particularly grueling trial, one much worse than the games ever were, everyone definitely needed the rest of the weekend to rest up. But now it is Monday once more, and that means it is time to get back to 'work'.

The cameras have moved again, and the contestants will need to be careful where they say what until their new locations have been revealed. In addition to that, the house itself seems to have changed, with its usual colorful appearance suddenly a bit more grey. Even the weather seems to be gloomy, with those storm clouds from last week starting to overcast the area, threatening to drop rain.

Seventeen contestants remain in this game of death. How many more will fall before the game is over? And how many more will be driven to murder?

[ Just going to reach over to poke her in the nose. Boop. ]

[Closing one eye, but the other remains fixed on the machete!]

It's not cheating!

Besides, something like that isn't really useful for anything but being a weapon, right?

[ Fine she can take it back. He'll let her use her jedi mind tricks. ]

[The machete just kind of plants itself in the ground by her side. She's still hugging the bow close.]

Unless it's good for something else, I'm just going to destroy it.

It's not. Just something that looks like a lot of fun.

[ And since she's just hugging the bow, he'll just move closer to her. There's a pause before he touches her arm. ]

[ Stepping back quickly. ]

[After the whole bird incident, she's a little more mindful of those brief touches, and she looks surprised - before slowly shifting her grip on the bow to one hand, using cantus to pick up the arrow and float it into her other.

She'll attempt to hold up the bow again, but the arrow refuses to stay nocked, staying in place only when she hurriedly pinches the feathered end to prevent it from falling to the ground completely. She's got the basic idea of how she's supposed to stand, but in practice her form is all wrong, more than likely inspired more from illustrations than reality.]

[ He'll just circle around her, pausing to adjust her feet positions by nudging them with his own. Then he'll stand next to her. There's another moment of hesitation before he helps himself to adjusting her arms and hands. ]

Remember this stance and how this feels.

[She'll correct her stance as he directs her, pausing to memorize her position once he's done.]

...Okay, I think I have it.

[And then, squinting.]

How should I be aiming?

[darkremnants]

[ Tapping a spot above where the arrow is notched. ]

Line up your target here. When you draw it back, draw it just under eye level.

[ There's another hesitation before he taps her cheek. ]

[She blinks in surprise at the touch again, but keeps her eyes ahead. If nothing else, cantus has taught her how to focus.

Following his instructions, she pulls back on the string, releasing the arrow-!

...Mostly for it to fly and then thunk into an invisible wall before it actually hits anything.]

-It actually flew.

[Whoa. She wasn't actually expecting to be able to do it.]

[ Look, he can actually help.

Maybe. ]

That's what it's supposed to do. Now keep practicing.

[He can, and it's amazing. She'll break stance to look at him properly.]

[And probably sorry for being so whiny at first, but she's not actually saying it out loud.]
