Week 4

It finally happened. Someone murdered, and was punished for it. After a particularly grueling trial, one much worse than the games ever were, everyone definitely needed the rest of the weekend to rest up. But now it is Monday once more, and that means it is time to get back to 'work'.

The cameras have moved again, and the contestants will need to be careful where they say what until their new locations have been revealed. In addition to that, the house itself seems to have changed, with its usual colorful appearance suddenly a bit more grey. Even the weather seems to be gloomy, with those storm clouds from last week starting to overcast the area, threatening to drop rain.

Seventeen contestants remain in this game of death. How many more will fall before the game is over? And how many more will be driven to murder?

Huh?

[ it's clear that oda isn't in his best game today but, in his defense, he hasn't been in his game since about a week now.

so he's clearly shocked when he sees nora poking him with the box, though he takes it without any complaint. ]

The House really likes giving you my stuff, hm? I think I'm lucky.

[ he huffs. ]

It's probably gonna be another gun but, if you want we can see what it is.

[Yeah, Nora kind of noticed the lack of game, including the lack of game when it comes to Oda and Saki being Weird and Kind Of Gross in the corners but it's fine. That's not the important thing here, thank god for the dignity of everyone involved, and he can just flop on the trampoline.

A little like he did last week. The smell of blood isn't even here anymore, but it makes him think back anyway. Gross. There's a huff from him, too.]

Dunno, you could probably get your stuff back from just about anybody. Sneaky bastard.

[Nora tilts his head so he can see the box better now that it's no longer with him.]

An' yeah, you better open it 'cause I want to see.

I don't think anyone else would've given me the gun.

[ saki keeps destroying weapons!

he looks at the box again, still hesitating despite nora's eagerness to see what's in it. well, unless it's another one of those disgusting jellos with teeth, oda won't mind. he opens the box and--

his eyes widen in surprise. ]

The book...

Don't see why not, it was your gun in the first place. Even if it seems awful inconvenient not to have your own magic weapon to carry around.

[There's a shrug from Nora on that score -- he tried talking to Saki about the weapons thing, okay?? But also, he just trusts Oda in his own weird way, including with lethal weapons despite everything. Sometimes you just gotta kill the shit out of a guy, or defend yourself, and they're sides of the same coin.

He's never really dealt with a world without weapons, anyway.

For the moment, though, it's looking like that's not going to be the theme this time. He'll shuffle over a little to look closer into the box when he notices Oda's expression.]

Oh. Another book... seems like something you'd get, but what's up with it?

A bit. My subordinate back at home could make cloth into anything--including weapons. It's a lot more convenient than what I can do.

[ but he looks back at the book, and he's almost afraid to touch it. like part of him thinks that it's going to fall apart.

and the book does look worn out, the spine of the book looking like it's been through a lot. ]

It's a book someone gave me. Probably the most important thing I had back at home.

I dunno, getting away from any attack and moving without any noise ever is pretty convenient too? Don't think I've ever seen anybody fighting with cloth or cloth weapons either. That ain't how magical weapons work.

[And also there's no such thing as cloth element, y'all and your weird urban fantasyish schtick. Nora looks between Oda and the book some more and then leeeaaans over -- but at least he doesn't try to touch it. He'd probably be too rough, what's actually interacting with literature.]

Eh, a book is your most important thing, really? [well, it is Oda] Why?
