Week 4

It finally happened. Someone murdered, and was punished for it. After a particularly grueling trial, one much worse than the games ever were, everyone definitely needed the rest of the weekend to rest up. But now it is Monday once more, and that means it is time to get back to 'work'.

The cameras have moved again, and the contestants will need to be careful where they say what until their new locations have been revealed. In addition to that, the house itself seems to have changed, with its usual colorful appearance suddenly a bit more grey. Even the weather seems to be gloomy, with those storm clouds from last week starting to overcast the area, threatening to drop rain.

Seventeen contestants remain in this game of death. How many more will fall before the game is over? And how many more will be driven to murder?

[Everybody needs a change every now and then, but don’t overdo it.

For 24 hours, any time Nora has dry clothes on, something somehow happens to drench him in water. Contrived accidents, sudden water balloons, exploding drink cups, you name it. He's not going to be dry for 24 hours.]

[WOW IS THIS REVENGE FOR WATER BALLOON HELL--

I guess since he was dealing with Vanitas anyway he gets to fall into the pool almost immediately for no good reason. Probably slipped on a stray pool noodle. F.]

[ Frozen poodles are slippery. ]

[FROZEN POODLES....... if Alcor is just floating nearby he'll splash him out of spite?? Actually no he's just going to try and smack him with the pool noodle too. KARMIC VENGEANCEEEE.]

[ And noodles my phone is clearly the mastermind here! He actually is floating nearby, heyyyy! Getting wet and he may soon look like a wet poodle so maybe this all works out, but he does manage to dodge the actual hit of the noodle at least by means of floating high above the water. ]

You'll have to jump much higher than that.

[I mean yeah splashed Alcor is pretty much a wet poodle. Also guess who's wind spelling himself out of the pool like a water balloon STRAIGHT FROM HELL HI.]

I'll show you HIGHER.

[And I mean if he manages to catch Alcor he's totally dunking him.]

[ Yeah guess who forgot how high Nora can get with his alternative wind spell use. He is getting grabbed and completely dunked in the water, RIP. ]

[...honestly he probably can't swim but it's enough like floating that he's able to at least surface awkwardly, bobbing with a completely displeased look on his face. ]

I am wet. [ He seems crankier about this than usual? And hmm the water sure is heating up and- yeah he's going to evaporate all this water in the pool and make it one hell of an onsen. You might wanna get out, Nora. ]

Well, yeah, I dunno what the hell is goin' on with this pool but that'll teach you to underestimate--

[There's a tilt of Nora's head because he scents DANGER all of a sudden and it's even clearer when it's around water, of course. Of course. There's a definite yelp when the water starts heating up ALCOR WHAT THE FUQ--]

ALCOR WHAT THE FUCK.

[And he's just going to bounce. The hell outta there bye.]

What the what? [ He replies as he finishes boiling all the pool water. When he's done he's just going to settle on the first floor roof, apparently pleased with himself. ]

I am dry now. [ Problem solved. ]

... You coulda just used a towel or somethin' instead of messing up the pool!

[Grumble, grumble, Nora's just going to squint up at him from below for the moment. Alcor's been testier and weirder lately and also whiny about water but even he's not usually this weird?? Hm. On the bright side, the spell kind of dried Nora off too.

... He'll get splashed again later but eh.]

D'you really hate swimming THAT much.

This was easier. [ Smiling back down. ]

I do not know how to swim.

[Gets grouchier in response thanks, also there's definitely a mutter of Maybe for YOU somewhere in there but. Continues squinting......]

'Course ya don't. I'm just waiting for the day we gotta have a game in the goddamn pool at this rate.

[inb4 Alcor just literally sets the pool on fire at that point, he'd manage it somehow--]

Or a game on the roof?

[ He would like to see a bunch of people get up here unassisted. Maybe that should have happened to disprove his trampoline theories. ]

[OK but Alcor in a powerless environment you also would not get up there unassisted, possibly via trampoline. Honestly Nora’s picturing this by now and snorting loudly.]

There’d only be half of us up there.

[ Just continues to be proud of this nbd. ]

[Alcor what are you proud of. Why. Have a pause, though. Balance beam is kinda bad civilization still. Nora’s just going to occupy himself with popping up to the roof because excuse you this is his territory.

Also it means the curse might not follow him up (it will absolutely follow him up).]

... Yeah, yeah. That’s got nothin’ to do with it. Well, I don’t care unless there’s more stupid quiz questions.

[He seriously prefers the physical challenges despite everything.]

[ But who will be his next sacrifice to keep his hair floofy. ]

They are...ludicrous. [ There's a little punctuation on the last word, like he's pleasantly surprised he said so much. ]

Regardless, this is a poor way to test others.

[Don't evaporate the House, Alcor, that may not be a good idea. Nora cocks his head and scowls instinctively like he's heard an unpleasant sound, but after a moment it registers as agreement and the scowling lessens.]

If I gotta see more math or chickens or-- [grouching forever but honestly he doesn't mind the chickens anymore, he's easily amused] --or all of that stuff. I'm goin' to set Dazai's hair on fire instead an' see if I can test THAT.

[So maybe there is another sacrifice.]

Betcha anything he'd try an' block any fire spells, but there's a shitton of other ways to make fire. One time we set a fuckin' shark on fire with gasoline and like... vodka? Pretty sure it was vodka.

[Fun fact: Rampant pyromania is apparently just a thing in his social circle.]

Whole place smelled like fish sticks for a week.

Something like fireworks, then. We can say it was under the guise of making a better "show" as well.

It was a liquor store or something? Maybe they were just stockin' vodka that day, I don't fucking know.

[Brightening at fireworks though?? He's a simple dog who likes colors and explosions.]

Actually, I haven't seen fireworks in person yet? I heard they're supposed to happen at holidays and festivals too, but we were way too busy. And stuff. So Dazai-shaped fireworks sound like a good show.

They are very bright, colorful and steeped in tradition around the world. If this is your first experience, we should make it a good one.

[And then a star came down from the universe and made true fireworks. God. What kind of foreshadowing is this.]

Eh, traditions just make everything all complicated an' weigh things down. Just make 'em go boom and all the shapes and colors and that's good enough.

[He sounds so flippant about it but there's a brightness in his eyes; he really hasn't gotten to see fireworks before, not for real. It's the little things in life, really.]
