Week 3, Saturday

[foundationmods]

This time, when everyone files into the studio, they aren't escorted to their seats. Instead, they are sent to podiums up on the stage arrange in a semi-circle. Everyone can see each other, and everyone is also visible to the cameras. Off to stage right is a jury box with 12 prinnies in it, all in various states of 'fancy dress'. One is wearing a suit top, another a blouse, one a huge Colonial-era wig. To stage left at box 0 is Dazai's seat, where he will be spending most of the trial, but he will get up to move around at times. And in the very center is a picture of Aqua. Once everyone is in their spots, one of the prinnies will hit a gavel against the podium in front of it, signaling the start of the trial.

It's time to find Aqua's killer.

Do you think that will solve anything?! Are you really, really that desperate to prove to the goddamn cameras - to all of the Foundations that we're monsters by saying, "oh, I'm so mad that someone important to me died, so it doesn't fucking matter anymore so just let me perform the fucking execution if we manage to find her goddamn killer"?!

It won't!

It won't bring her back, and it certainly won't help yourself or anyone else. Sure, it might feel good to get revenge, but that feeling won't last! And I'm not going to let somebody I know to do something incredibly stupid just because they thought it would make them feel better for like five seconds!

[ But before he can elaborate further, Dazai says a thing. ]

going to hate the outcome of this trial, isn't she. nevertheless, she won't say anything since Dazai decides to stop him with that, but she is giving him a rather judgmental look that speaks measures. ]

[There's a quick glance over but he doesn't actually comment on this. Darkness cats, man.]

...Please don't?

...I know how you feel, but that's exactly why it's important that you don't do the execution.

[darkremnants]

[ Gripping his fists as he looks between her, and then Dazai. ]

I need to do something for her.

[duskhound]

You can. That's what we're all here for, after all. If you can catch her killer, that's doing something for her.

[ Dazai has spoken, so he's falling quiet again. ]

[duskhound]

[Then, crisis averted for the time being... Still, she'll probably want to talk to him about it later.]

Because I am the only one allowed to execute someone without being punished. If one of you does it, then I will have to execute you afterwards.

[ He makes a frustrated noise at that, but he'll fall quiet. ]

... then you probably shouldn't do it. It won't bring her back.
