Week 3 Mingle

The last week has brought the first spilled blood. Three of the contestants are gone, with the promise of more to fall soon. The atmosphere around the house will start to get heavy around Wednesday, which is when the first game of the week is. It's almost like the house knows something is up...

The conspiracy is beginning to unravel. Dazai isn't Dazai, and the cracks are forming in his act. But that act must be held up, or the Foundation will be brought in to take control of the game. Now everyone must play the part and act like everything is normal, at least on camera. That stress of always performing is bound to make someone crack eventually.

Once again, the cameras and microphones change. The contestants will have to search out new spots for their secret conversations. Even one wrong step, one wrong word, and it's all over for this group. Everyone is watching, and they need to play their roles.

They better keep an eye out too, because storm clouds are starting to loom over the area, both figuratively and literally.

[ Azura's aimlessly wandering after the game, not knowing what to do with herself, really. But she sees Inaba, and--is she crying?

And then oh.

She. She knows that feeling. ]

...Inaba?

[ tentatively reaching out ]

. . . hey.

[ She's a little quiet but she does raise her head a bit, although she's glancing between Azura and the phone in her hands. Her lips curve into a smile that just doesn't quite reach her eyes, although she does wipe the tears with a sleeve. ]

May I...sit with you?

[ fiddling with her pendant

if Inaba doesn't want company, she'll leave, but. She wants to make sure Inaba's okay. ]

[dereban]

[ She still looks at the phone for a bit before shaking her head and placing it on her lap. ]

If you don't mind someone who won't be talking too much. . . then no, I don't mind.

That's fine.

[ Azura's not much of a talker, either, as Inaba should know. ]

I'd, ah...just like to offer, if you ever desire help sleeping or relaxing, I can induce it with my song.

[ raises hands a little defensively ]

[ she shakes her head ]

Please don't. I don't feel comfortable when someone uses their powers on me.

[ oh no did she heck up ]

I--won't, without anyone's permission. [ ..... ] Aside from situations that call for it, like the game last weekend.

[ sleepy sleepy berserker doge ]

[ Well, considering the way that she reacted to abilities being cut during the game? It's probably a good thing that she backtracked and said that she wouldn't without permission. ]

I apologize if I made you uncomfortable, I just...can't do much for anyone outside of my song.

Being here is enough for me, really. We can just. . . talk, if you want to. About anything.

I was just. . . reminded, you know? Just seeing those two die like that-- it was kind of similar to how I died, back at the Hotel.

Ah, that's right--you and Ellie were in a game like this before, weren't you?

[dereban]

[ She nods, a little quiet. ]

It's been so long since then. But sometimes I can remember it like it was only yesterday. I'd argue that this is a lot worse.

[prayerwheel]

How so?

[ they've been able to prevent 4 deaths so far, haven't they? ]

[ at what cost, Azura? people still died ]

Because there's no fairness to how people have died so far. No rhyme or reason. It's just simply. . . death for death's sake.

[prayerwheel]

[ Azura thinks for a moment, drumming her fingers on her knee ]

I think it depends on how one perceives the situation. Which is worse--the ability to prevent your companions from killing each other over motives, but having a chance of dying randomly, or not being able to prevent your companions from killing each other over motives?

There's always a chance that the motives aren't real and cannot be upheld, so in that case, would they not be dying for death's sake as well?

Ah--please don't think I'm trying to challenge your viewpoint, I simply want to understand your perspective more.

To be fair, the game I had to play didn't have proper motives. Have you heard of the game 'mafia'? People were just chosen to be killed each week. None of us had any choice. Not to mention that we had to choose who to kill on Saturday.

It was mafia, so we had no clues, no evidence. Just gut feelings and intuition. It would be so easy to scapegoat another person.

I haven't, but I can imagine it must have been quite bad. [ by inaba's description alone ]

To have that on your hands, choosing one of your own number to be sacrificed...

[ ......... ]

I'm sorry, Inaba. That must have been horrific.

It could have been worse than it was, but it. . . was pretty bad.

and now... two people are dead, with possibly more on friday and saturday. it doesn't give her much in the way of hope ]
