Week 1, Saturday
This whole post contains a blanket CONTENT WARNING for gallows and hanging imagery.
---
[Once again, right at noon, the Contestants are invited to the studio to participate in another exciting game. The set has changed entirely since the last time they were there, with the mountain climber game replaced by a large board of some sort. Several prinnies are near it, carrying large cards with random letters written on them. It seems as though they might be helping out for this game. But there is something else off to the side too...(CW: gallows)
As always, Dazai is there, waiting on stage for everyone to sit down. He's dressed in his usual black suit getup, but his smile seems a bit forced today.]

Sign-ups
We need 2 volunteers total, and this comment will be open until 12:40 EST. If we get more than 2 volunteers, we will RNG from all who volunteered. If we get less than 2, we will RNG from all contestants.

Game rules
One random contestant will get to go up and stand on our special platform there. I know it's a bit high up, but don't worry, it's completely safe!
Up on that board, my prinny assistants will display several blank spaces to form a word, phrase, or sentence. Everyone will take turns guessing letters to fill in the spots on the board. The words are in English, by the way, with American spellings.
For every letter you guess that's up on the board, the game continues. However! If you guess a letter that is not on the board, I take this handy tool-
[He picks up a nearby baseball bat.]
-and take out one of those support pegs down there.
[Using the bat, he points to just underneath the gallows, where nine wooden poles can be seen.]
If all nine of those are taken out, then it's game over! And I don't think I need to tell you what happens to the poor volunteer in that case.
Also, you can try to guess the phrase on the board at any time, but an incorrect guess will also take out a support peg. The round is over when either the board is filled in, someone guesses the phrase, or the volunteer dies.
Any questions?

Puzzle 1
[He pulls out a really ugly hat and shoves 24 cards into it. Then he shuffles it up and, without peeking, pulls one out.]
And it looks like our first potential victim is Inaba-san! Come right on up!
[If she doesn't come willingly, the prinnies will help her up to the stage and into the noose.]
And here's your first puzzle. Since Ingway-san paid the price for it, you'll get a clue. It's a complete sentence, and it is sound advice for how to beat this game. Also, it doesn't have the letters Z or Q in it.
[A link to the first board.]

Puzzle 2

Azula! You're up!
[Like with Inaba, Azula will be escorted up to the noose.]
Your clue for this puzzle is "it's a hobby that you can do alone, but is more enjoyed in the company of others." Also don't go asking for any Es, they're not in there.

???
I'm impressed with how quickly you all have been flying through this! Maybe I should have picked a different game, if you're doing so well at this one.
[Something about his tone says that he's not at all sorry that everyone is doing so well.]
There's one more to go, so I wonder if you all will-
[And that's when his phone rings.
Dazai falls silent, and he actually looks worried when he hears that ringtone. He pulls the phone out of his pocket, and for a second he just stands there watching it ring. He glances up to the contestants, then back down to the phone.
Finally, he presses the answer button and holds the phone up to his non-bandaged ear.]
Aah, hello, what can I- ... no, of course not, it- ... No. ... No, that's not-
[The conversation continues for a minute or so, with Dazai constantly getting cut off. Each time he starts to speak he sounds a bit more frantic to answer, like he really wants to get a word in edgewise.
And then everyone will be able to see sparks fly from the phone, and Dazai lets out a surprised yelp as he drops it entirely. His hand and his ear both have black marks on them, sure signs of being electrocuted.
Dazai also looks shaken by what happened. He'll need a moment to recover.]

Puzzle 3
There has been a change of rules.
[The next puzzle goes up on the board. The prinnies all look nervous.]
Five consonants, two vowels. No punishments for wrong letters, but you get no help besides those seven letters. Then you have nine tries to get the phrase.
George, you're up.
[The prinnies seem frightened as they lead George up to the gallows this time.]
...the clue is 'when the shinigami are away, these two will stay to play'.
