As dawn approaches on Monday, the contestants are greeted to a beautiful, sunny day. It's the first full week of their time in the house, and after the rather troubling introduction on Saturday it's hard to know just what to expect

For the first week, the surrounding area seems quiet and peaceful. The weather stays a nice 75 degrees during the day, and it dips down to the 50s at night. Comfortable, and without any real disturbances from nature or house. It's almost as if the whole weekend was just a bad dream, and maybe the actual game won't be as bad as Dazai made it out to me.

However, those rules and profiles are still hanging in the living room, a constant reminder of the warnings that have been given. What will happen now? There haven't been any deaths at this containment site in years, but will that change with these new rules? Only time will tell.

Perhaps it's a good idea to enjoy this first week. Go swimming, watch a movie, or just hang out together and get to know each other better. You never know, this might be the last time to see some of the contestants.

[ Sometime during Sandy's flying expedition Alcor will appear on the roof, knees loosely drawn up to his chest. He watches the whole affair, peeking down at the winged angel as he recovers. ]

Something unpleasant. [ An echo to their talk in the kitchen, he sounds like he agrees now more than he did a few days ago. ]

[He does catch sight of Alcor on the way up, but there's plenty of time to chat after his little experiment, so he soars on past. Of course, then he has that landing, which is... well, more irritating than embarrassing.

With a click of the tongue, he finally turns to Alcor.]

I'd describe it as more than just 'unpleasant'. I can't believe I've been reduced to something so pathetic...

Pathetic? [ Shifting a bit from his rooftop perch. ] I don't think I can agree. Pathetic is for...

[ Thinking, thinking, rubbing at his eyes and—ah! ]

Pathetic is for when you try to use teabags from a kobini at a tea ceremony.

'Kobini'...?

[He has no idea what that means because ty fantasy world with an undefined language?! He can grasp a bit of the context from the tea ceremony thing though.

Well, either way. He shakes his head at Alcor.]

Then what would you call that miserable display, if not pathetic?

A convenience store like sebun. [ Even if he said 7-11 instead of the slang Daichi taught him Sandy would probably be as equally confused. He smiles helpfully(?) anyway. ]

A steadfast attempt and an ameliorative learning experience.

[In all honesty, yeah he's still confused, but 'convenience store' at least is recognizable enough for him to understand so he's not completely lost?? Maybe...]

Optimistic as usual, I see... although it's not like I expected otherwise. [Sigh.] Anyway. Did something happen recently? You seem to be more bothered about this than normal.

Is that how you view me? [ It doesn't sound like he's disagreeing, but he does sound surprised. ]

I have not slept yet, though I have drank a lot of coffee. [ He might have stopped here for anyone else, but he continues after a beat. ] The game is finally starting as well, and there will be many choices that will have to be made. It is familiar, though I'm not sure if I would consider it welcome or not.

Is there any other way of describing a person who sees these experiences in such a positive light?

[But anyways. He does listen carefully when Alcor relates his concerns, brows furrowing at the revelation.]

So you've been in a similar situation, then. Are you worried about the outcome?

I suppose not but...it was not too long ago that I went by a very different moniker.

[ It's all rather strange still. ]

Yes, but the stakes were much higher. So no, I am not worried. But perhaps it wouldn't be so wrong to say I am apprehensive.

Is that so...

[Well, beings do change over time. He's rather aware of that himself, even if he won't say it out loud. But still, it's odd to imagine Alcor as anything but his calm, curious and genial self.

He lets out a short, quiet hum of thought at that comment about apprehension though.]

Considering the Foundation's underhanded methods and our motley crew of agents, I can't say that feeling is unfounded. This week has already revealed some who would act foolishly.

[ He nods, for once not elaborating. It's not a sore subject but one he's still in the process of working through himself. ]

...I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific unless you're referring to the endangerment of marine life. [ Said a touch fondly—it's only Tuesday and sometime in the space time continuum a giant crab will be frozen and bludgeoned, and one or more prinnies has already exploded. By the end of the week, one giant octopus will join this fate, if not more.

Mortals will be mortals and he loves them for it, even if there is a part of him that is doing a concern over everything. ]

I was talking more about concealing information.

[This is probably one of the more ironic things he could say considering how bad he can be at teamwork, but. The salt never ends (even when the other parties come out and apologize, apparently).]

Even if they may have had good intentions, it's difficult to trust someone who would willingly hide and discuss important matters behind your back. That they believed that to be the correct decision in light of how this game operated... it's nonsense.

They were thinking of the pack and not of the population as a whole. [ The trust issue though...he shifts poking a wayward curl that's strayed in front of his eyes. ]

Perhaps some of them did not know any better, I learned that lesson myself not too long ago. But, I had never expected any humans to trust me from the start.
