Things had changed so rapidly in the past few days.
The loss of two of them hung over like a shroud, made even worse by the fact that an innocent person had been executed.

....Even if it was, there wasn't much they could do now. Yuuko herself hasn't shown up in public since the trial, and while some have talked to her, she's been...subdued.
Did the trial hurt her just as much as them?
Regardless, the island is still beautiful, if deadly. Summer continues, beaming down on all of them, the waves of the sea warm and inviting.
But even if things look bleak...
They have something in their hands that will soon lead to the Truth, and the heart of this matter.

Riku's feeling the effects too, bad enough that there is a shadow that comes briefly over his eyes, but before he can have an internal battle voicing it, Sora's voice cuts through his own mired thoughts. His question comes out, though it's slightly distracted because he's coming back into reality here. ]

[ Speaking of confessions, that sure is a weight in his chest, and at the brunet's last words there, he can't help but be ever more reminded of the things he isn't saying that he wants to say. ]

Is there something straight about RikuThere's a moment he's surprised. He was sure Riku might turn it into a joke, or something. Seeing that expression on Riku's face though cements that his best friend is serious about this. Folding his hands behind his head as he smiles, while his heart feels like it's doing flips. ]

This is when he thinks about the conversation he had with Takumi a bit more closer and what Syaoran was saying. Riku's steady presence and dazzling smile mean more to him than he could really ever put into words. He always saw himself as only wanting to be with Kairi, but...

No hand holding, but he'll eventually throw an arm around Riku's shoulders as soon as he has it firmly in place that this is just a friendship thing. Be still, heart. Ven, Terra, and Aqua all had Wayfinders based on the Paopu Fruit and it was just a connection. A spell that would bring them all back. And with how things were for them in this place, the Foundation, and even back home... believing in a little magic that can bind them together forever is important.
