WEEK 1 INVESTIGATION

It had almost been a week since everyone had been brought here.
The days had gone by with no hint of trouble, not from the Witch, or any of her servants. It almost seemed like nothing would happen after all.

Yet, as everyone woke up...something felt different.
Like there was some kind of predator nearby...waiting... 🗈

...It felt....off. Like they were going to see something that shouldn't be seen....or feel something that shouldn't be felt.

After all....there was this ominous feeling echoing in the rooms. Like something nearby was just...waiting for them to stumble the right way, bringing them closer to it's hungry mouth...

...

No matter what it is, though, they had to step forward.

They had....to finally, truly start this game.

[It's morning and there's a sickening feeling in the air, he forces himself up, and dressed just enough to be presentable. First off, he'll go to the nearest 'public' room - the Sitting Area and work his way from there]

[So much for this being a vacation, or so Joey's finely-honed not-getting-eaten-by-a-monster instincts are telling her. She'd really like to keep acting oblivious to danger, but on the other hand, she doesn't have Jude's paranoia to balance that out. And she has been warned.]

[With that in mind, she thoroughly checks Room 7 as she gets dressed, before she unlocks her door and leaves. The first thing she's going to do is head to the Kitchen to see what the food situation is. Can't solve magic crime on an empty stomach, if any such thing did indeed occur.]

[Shadow is just gonna be in bare feet today, and he drops off his shoes for the check. They are boring. There's some beach sand stuck in the treads but not much else.]

Obviously Sora, Ruler, and Erhard will have a blood smell to them]

We should check everyone's rooms. [ a beat ] And we should get a small team of about three or four together, to be in charge of this.

[You mean all the rooms besides the...crime scene, right? Hopefully he means that.]

A NOTE

[The first person to respond to this is getting a letter delivered to them via cockatiel, one that is addressed 'to the pieces'. The handwriting should be familiar at this point.]

To the pieces,

By now, you should be aware of what has happened. A murder has triggered an investigation, which will lead to a trial.

The other witch, the one claiming to be Yuuko, will try to tell you a false version of what really happened. Her story will be a fantastical account, one that is step-by-step the same murder, but committed with magic. She will tell you this, and then give you six hours to disprove her version of events.

It is up to you to use the evidence you find to break that false version and show her that the murder was committed not by magic, but by a person with mundane means. If you can prove that someone among you committed the murder, then this week is a 'loss' for her. If you give up and accept her version, then this week is a 'win' for her.

It is imperative that you do not, for any reason, accept her version of events! Find a truth that does not violate the evidence you have discovered, and win. I will be watching, and if things go terribly then I will try to help.
