WEEK 1 INVESTIGATION

It had almost been a week since everyone had been brought here.
The days had gone by with no hint of trouble, not from the Witch, or any of her servants. It almost seemed like nothing would happen after all.

Yet, as everyone woke up...something felt different.
Like there was some kind of predator nearby...waiting... 🗈

...It felt....off. Like they were going to see something that shouldn't be seen....or feel something that shouldn't be felt.

After all....there was this ominous feeling echoing in the rooms. Like something nearby was just...waiting for them to stumble the right way, bringing them closer to it's hungry mouth...

...

No matter what it is, though, they had to step forward.

They had....to finally, truly start this game.

[Shadow remembers that he has his EyePhone with him... the AI may be asleep, but the camera app works just fine. He snaps a picture before taking the tape off (just enough to get the door open) and unlock the door to let Ruler in]

[Ruler isn't the only one, Erhard's right on his heels. As soon as he sees the body, he grits his teeth and goes instantly tense.]

I can't believe someone would actually fall for this "game" of hers. What wish is worth someone's life?

[Erhard looks so disgusted with the whole situation, but he nods and moves toward the corpse to begin a cursory examination.]

[The moment he looks at her body, he'll be able to tell her cause of death.

The wound is on the abdomen, right over one of the kidneys.]

Highly vascular organ, she probably would've bled out fairly quickly. Judging by the amount of blood present, this is definitely the fatal wound.

[He's going to check for defensive wounds next, starting with her hands.]

[Since he is a doctor, he can also tell the wound is deep and applied with more force than necessary.

oddly enough, she has no defensive wounds - though if he tries to move her hand around, he'll definitely notice rigor mortis has set in.]

[He notes the depth and apparent violence of the wound, as well as the stiffness of her wrist. He tries to check her range of motion, to see how far along rigor is. He doesn't have anything to write with, so he talks to himself to firmly lock the details of his examination in his memory.]

Rigor mortis can start as soon as four hours after death, with peak around twelve to thirteen hours after death. Estimated time of death is....

[Around Midnight last night, due to how along it is, give or take a little.]

Approximately midnight. No defensive wounds on her hands or forearms.

[He'll examine her face next. Any signs of injury, petechiae in the eyes, bruising, burns?]

[There's that redness, but it looks like it was caused due to inhalation of chemicals rather than applied, and no asphyxiation or burns.]

Possible chemical irritation of the eyes from inhalation. It doesn't look severe enough for direct exposure.

[Does she have any irritation around her nostrils to confirm that?]

[Her nostrils, yes - and if he peels off the duct tape, her mouth.. In fact, the skin around her nose and mouth look irritated.]

It appears someone applied chemicals to her nose and mouth. There's contact dermatitis present, suggests she was forcefully sedated with something mildly to moderately caustic. There's a possibility that she was rendered unconscious before she was stabbed. It would explain the lack of defensive wounds.

[He's going to check the wound again. Can he determine an approximate shape for the weapon, and are there any foreign objects present in the wound?]

[The shape looks like a knife wound, and is consistent with the knife that's near her on her left side.

No foreign objects, however.]

Stab wound is consistent with the knife found next to the body. No foreign debris in the wound.

[Does he detect any odor from the irritation on her face?]
