WEEK 1 MINGLE - KALMIA
All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.
Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?
There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.
Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.
Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.
Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?
...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

[ He glances at Watanuki.
If he doesn't know, he shouldn't tell him. ]

[but he'll wait until Watanuki leaves the room]

also trc/xxxholic spoilers
First of all, Watanuki isn't allowed to hear about any of this. If the future is changed for him, things will get unstable.
But the reason why I'm absolutely certain that the Yuuko-san here isn't real is because she no longer exists. In any dimension.
^ POTENTIALLY IMPORTANT DATA
Great. Time nonsense. [he sighs] If that's the case, couldn't she be from some point in time before she unexisted?
no subject
It's not that she doesn't exist anymore, since myself and Watanuki still remember her...
[ But she's dead, basically. ]
No matter how hard anyone tries, there's no way to bring her back to life, or pull her from a time where she was still alive. Because that is what she wished for.

[he folds his arms, thinking]
... then perhaps she is a construct of memories.

[...]
That's possible. Although... there was something off about her response to me when she answered my question regarding this game. Mostly regarding the fact that she stated that any wish would be granted, outside of reviving the dead if one managed to win this game.

All wishes have a price. But if you pay too much, or too little... you might potentially hurt yourself.

But even with all those lives sacrificed... if someone made a wish that wasn't equivalent to what was paid, then everyone who wound up surviving would be in pain. I don't want anyone to have to go through that. And more than that, I don't want anyone to have to die anymore for a sake of wish.
[ He's so tired of it. ]

[Someone’s gotta ask.]
Is it because her powers are really useful?
no subject
It's true that her powers are useful, but everything has a price.

[The way he says it is funny, like he's talking about a class clown or a favorite athlete. Somebody you kind of get, but would also kind of like to popcorn at.]
Of course everything has a price, but do you know what the price is?
no subject
[ That's all he's going to say for now, anyway. ]
The price depends on what you're trying to do, but it has to be something equal to what you're doing.
no subject
[For now, more importantly and probably more relevant to what Syaoran can actually talk about without become a series of grunts--]
What would be equal to a Witch of Dimensions? The way Not-Yuuko talked about it, all Witches seem like pretty powerful beings, anyway.

[This is not the time to be impressed?!]
no subject
He means she died.

[But he’s listening thoughtfully to the rest, at the very least]
But I guess Witches really are something else! They even die with flair!
[It’s seriously still not the time to be impressed.]
