MOCK ROUND INTRO LOG
Welcome to
This game is just a trial run, but please do not think you can sleep through this. The Witch fully intends to put the system through its paces, so please put up a good fight.
The difficulty level depends on you. Think deeply on your moves during this short play time.
You wake with a start - even if you don't remember falling asleep in the first place - and find yourself standing on the dock of what looks like an island. There's a noise behind you - and if you turn to look, you'll see a plain white boat taking off and leaving you all behind, not stopping for a second if you try to flag them down or scream at them.
It doesn't look like you can swim to shore, either - there's nothing but sea in all directions, and something tells you trying to swim out will end up badly. However, a small dip, if you were so inclined, would be fine. It's not like the weather is bad for it - it feels like it's summer, despite whatever it was when you laid eyes on the envelope.
...Speaking of, Every last one of you have an envelope in your hands, with a gold letter 'L' on it. It's the same letter you were reading before you 'woke' up here, after all. More than that, those of you who had supernatural or magical abilities will feel...strange, as if your abilities are being forcibly blocked. Try as you might, you just can't use them - though all of your physical abilities are intact, of course.
If you decide to head up the path, you'll find Goat....men? waiting for you near the doors to the mansion. Despite their bright red eyes, they merely bow politely and wordlessly bring you into the mansion, showing you your rooms and then stating that they will prepare food for you or anything else you should need whenever you want, in surprisingly deep voices.
As they leave, you can't help but wonder...
What did you just get yourself into?
Mock Round Calendar!
The taken page still requires a little coding, but it should be done by sometime today.
Thank you for your patience!

I see.
[ An artificial being? That's... well. He's falling quiet, head lowered a little with the face of his helmet tilted the tiniest bit towards the floor. Someone's going all thoughtful, apparently. ]
Does it bother you, at all?
no subject
Not particularly. Each being is brought to life by others -- each robot is created in much the same way. So long as we know our purpose, it's enough for many of us.
no subject
And what's yours?
no subject
[She absolutely said that with a straight face and perfectly serenely.]
no subject
How do you plan to do that?
no subject
I heal, and save from Ruin. I grant eternal life to all beings.
no subject
Eternal life...? How?
no subject
In our time, robots and humans have found the way to immortality. I am simply a healer who keeps them on that path.
no subject
The body language might be the giveaway: he's somewhat... torn... by this concept. ]
And that makes you happy?
no subject
She just watches curiously as he struggles with it. It's not exactly a controversial concept where she comes from. For the most part. As with many things, the minority dissents loudest.]
Happiness...? I suppose, if fighting the dying world and pulling life from it must be named, then happiness is as good a word as any. I prefer to name it beauty.
no subject
He's quietly studying her for a moment, and then he's shaking his head. There's a bitter-sounding 'heh' slipping out. ]
Sounds like something he'd've been interested in.
no subject
Bitterness, after all, isn't all that uncommon when it comes to those in her life. It might be a more constant companion than you'd expect.]
... Someone you knew?
no subject
You could say that. [ . . . ] He's someone too soft, too weak, too pathetic to waste my breath actually talking about, though.
no subject
[It’s not completely pointed in her quiet voice, but, well. She can’t help it.]
no subject
So you do. [ quiet snort ] What do you even wanna know?
no subject
no subject
[ How... How does this introduction stuff really work? ]
You said start, though - what else?
no subject
You seem to not understand my purpose, so I wonder, what is yours?
no subject
To help my Master achieve his goal of restoring balance.
no subject
no subject
[ Which is different than restoring it to just one world, even if he won't say that. He nods. ]
He created me as part of the plan. And, as soon as I'm out've here, I'll be able to go back to helping with it.
no subject
[She's aware of the philosophical connotations, but Vanitas doesn't seem like the sort who would be fighting for a mere abstract concept. Hmm.
The other possibility is just that the witch likes a majority-magic mayhem community.]
I, too, have to get back to my mission. But I am hoping being here will contribute.
no subject
In the case of the latter, it's what I'm made entirely of.
[ That's a Great Conversation Contributer, surely. ]
no subject
[It's not quite dry, but she does look Vanitas over a little pointedly.
She may be a robot from the post-post apocalypse but it is pretty easy to spot a goth even in the XXXXth century or whenever Casshern Sins takes place.]
What does being darkness mean?
no subject
The helmet really sells it, tho, doesn't it? ]
Negativity extracted from a person.
