WEEK 6 MINGLE

You wake up to the sound of silence in the halls, the lights still dimmed after what happened on the weekend. The Staff is still soundly gone, including The Chef - and items aren't regenerating out of thin air for all of you anymore. There's still enough food for everyone who's left, but you'll have to make it yourself, now that The Chef is out of commission. No movies play, the Arcade is dead, and all of the animals from the cafe have vanished, beyond the pets you brought or got during the game.
More than that, however, is that The dead no longer seem to be around from a living perspective. While the tablets went down as soon as The Lady did, they seem to not even be able to pick up or interact with the rest of you. Are they still here?
However, there's another major change - as you come down into the lobby, you'll see that The Resort has landed in an area - the ocean is clearly visible, as it rests close to a beach nearby. More than that, however - you can actually go outside. And it seems like the resort won't pull you back in.
You could, conceivably, just walk out the door, and into freedom. But...Should you?

DUCKDATES MEETING
Speaking of furries, she's holding a duck, for some reason. It's a very nice and distinctive duck, and around its neck is a little sign in sharpie that proudly proclaims INABA'S DUCK: DO NOT EAT.]
Okay, so I know we've all been looking for ways to fix what's happening here, get the ghosts back, and get the hell out of here. The ghosts have, too. That's where, um, this duck comes in.
[She holds up the duck I guess??]
Inaba-san has found a way to use the duck to talk in Morse code, so that's what we've been doing. She says... that most of the dead are clearing a way to the brain right now, in a place with weaker defenses. It's pretty hard to get the duck to cooperate sometimes, so that's all we got.
I don't really like the dead risking themselves, but the sooner we get to the brain the better. The Outsider says he's out of medicine to help him control his powers-- [because yeah, he can't control his powers, that's great, right] --so he's just... slowly turning into a shadow. We should probably try and get there before that becomes permanent and does something else to the Resort we can't fix.
So... we're going to need to look around the Resort a little more, and figure out if there's anything we've missed, or if the guests who are here -- or were here -- have anything for us. Oh, and... Himemiya-san and I used Sol to talk to the rats. They say they're going to help us find the last box we need, out of the puzzle boxes. Since the Outsider was talking about doing them, too, I'm hoping we can find a quick way to the brain that doesn't require the ghosts throwing themselves at the Resort's defenses.
[... She puts the duck down. It waddles around like a curious duck with possible new faces to investigate.]
... If anyone else has anything, just let us know.

[ ... ]
I don't really have anything new, but...I was thinking about checking out one of the guest rooms--room 202 with that oil guest. Though, I'm not going to really go ahead and check it out by myself, so if someone wants to come along, let me know.
[ ... Honestly it slipped his mind to ask. Roxas has kind of been dealing with some stuff, personally, and all that. But, everything's probably fine now. ]
no subject
[ She wants to make friends ]
no subject
[ ...It feels kind of like familiar in a way - them going somewhere where they needed to watch each other's backs. Even if Roxas loathed the Foundation now, the feeling of someone he trusted right by his side was nice. ]
no subject
[ It does and it's super nice. She's still pretty elated that they weren't really alone ]
Maybe we should bring them a gift?
no subject
[ Roxas' brows knitted together. That...was actually a good idea - if the guest was still even around, anyway. He'll just gesture with his hand so they can walk around while coming up with a gift (or grab it from a room or something) ]
What do you think they'd like? Something to play with?
no subject
Yeah! Like yarn or a lot of string! He's supposed to be a really big cat, right?
no subject
Oh, right.
Yarn or string, though...wait, let's go to the animal cafe. They probably still have some stuff around to play with the animals in there.
no subject
Yeah, I bet they do. Maybe they will have those crinkling balls!
[ It worked for Atsushi. Let's go to the stairs and beyond ]
no subject
[ Yep there they go and here they are, the animal cafe. ]
no subject
It's really, really quiet in here.
[ The animals aren't there.
And then she'll lead him over to cat toys. Picking up one of crinkle balls. ] These.
no subject
There's nothing in here, and it's kind of jarring - he hadn't gone in here much, but still. ]
I guess we can take one each.
[ Roxas grabs one for himself, a slight frown on his face. ]
...C'mon, let's get going.
no subject
Following him out ]
Hey...do you think we can fix the Resort?
no subject
But to save the Outsider and their dead friends, he knows they'll have to fix it. So in the end his personal opinion didn't matter here on what he wished they could do if they could save everyone without it - only the opinion that they could fix it in order to save everyone in the first place. ]
Yeah. We don't have any other choice but to think we can - or well, we can think we can't, and then let it get us down so we fail, but I don't think any of us really want to.
...Everyone's counting on us, and it might seem hard, but we got this far. I don't think it's impossible for us to make it happen, even if things look bad now.
no subject
Also, he isn't making a point of being quiet as he approaches, though he isn't exactly making a point of being loud, either? Either way, he's casually coming up and bumping Roxas' shoulder. ]
... Not the first time things have looked bad, right?
[ He's... referring to That One Mission they all did together. He shrugs and then gives a light smirk before adding: ]
Heading off without me?
[ It's a teasing question since he'd been walking up just in time for them to start towards the room, but most likely before they had a chance to see him? ]
no subject
Yeah, we can-
[ And she hears Eddie. Looking over at him and giving a bright smile. ]
Hey hey! I'm glad to see you around, Eddie. Did you want to pet the oil cat, too?
no subject
Then the other pulling on Cinque's sleeve. ]
We wouldn't dream of leaving you behind. [ A familiar grouping for more than one reason. ] So, let's all go together--all three of us.
[ Roxas then will begin to move towards the direction of the room, especially now that they've probably breached the second floor from the third. ]
no subject
No thanks.
[ Petting an oil cat sounds... uhhhhhh...
... Anyway. He's brazenly kissing Roxas on one corner of his mouth. ]
Sure thing. [ glancing away, and not blushing a tiny bit, nope!!!! ] I'll watch you guys pet this oil cat.
no subject
You're being really cute today, Eddie.
[ Calling him out :) Just going to snag Roxas' hand then as she winks at them. ]
Yeah! Together we can do this.
[ Time to find the oil cat. Let's head to his room and hopefully not the Moose's. ]
no subject
That wink only serves to embarrass him further and he kind of wants to hide his face a little. He's gonna go about sneaking in a chaste, gentle cheek kiss, though, so he's not much better. ]
...I'm just going to say I'm in agreement with all of that.
[ Don't worry, Roxas remembers which is in which room, so that shouldn't be too hard (in regards to approaching the correct door.)
Once they are there, he's going to try to open said door to room 202. ]
no subject
Am not.
[ He doesn't appreciate your lies and slander. In any case, he's going to stand next to Roxas as the door is opened. ]
no subject
[And being multiplanar probably takes some effort. They might actually have more animals than people in residence at this point, which makes rationing food kind of awkward.]
... Looks like you've got your team filled out, too. You might just be able to distract the oil monster with anything food or shiny, considering the things it's collected.
[The Resortpocalypse is a great time to mostly ignore personal problems in favor of general problems, natch.]
no subject
[ As far as Roxas knew anyway. Also he totally stocked up a LOT on some sea salt ice cream and there's a lot of it in a mini cooler in his room, so he's covered on snacks.
But speaking of which... ]
Wait a minute, maybe it might like ice cream?
[ Isn't it?? Even if it caused this one...but he'll take what he can get. ]
no subject
[This is saying something when both the Barghest and the Jorogumo are on hand for comparison. Then again, Szayel is his own variety of monster, so who knows what the score is at this point. If he's going intangible they are probably saving a lot of food, actually.
She blinks a couple of times at the non-sequitur.]
... Ice cream? I mean... I don't know if it likes the cold, but you could try?
[Isn't ice cream like the opposite of the jacuzzi. That's all she's got.]
no subject
.... Does the duck have a name?
