WEEK 6

You wake up to the sound of silence in the halls, the lights still dimmed after what happened on the weekend. The Staff is still soundly gone, including The Chef - and items aren't regenerating out of thin air for all of you anymore. There's still enough food for everyone who's left, but you'll have to make it yourself, now that The Chef is out of commission. No movies play, the Arcade is dead, and all of the animals from the cafe have vanished, beyond the pets you brought or got during the game.

More than that, however, is that The dead no longer seem to be around from a living perspective. While the tablets went down as soon as The Lady did, they seem to not even be able to pick up or interact with the rest of you. Are they still here?

However, there's another major change - as you come down into the lobby, you'll see that The Resort has landed in an area - the ocean is clearly visible, as it rests close to a beach nearby. More than that, however - you can actually go outside. And it seems like the resort won't pull you back in.

You could, conceivably, just walk out the door, and into freedom. But...Should you?

Oh... Roxas-kun, hello.

[Sometimes you just gotta talk to animals even if they aren't dressed in a sailor suit.

She turns back to the duck for a moment.]

I guess we can keep the duck fed for now. And... I should probably keep Cinque from eating it. [considering what almost happened to Ryoga...? anyways back to Roxas:] --Inaba-san is using the duck to communicate with us in Morse code.

[ It's...so cute?!

Roxas will squat down a bit so he can get more on the duck's level, after giving Aoi a small wave. ]

[ ...he reaches out his hand to in front of the duck. ]

She likes to eat ducks? And...what's Morse Code?

[It's a duck, of course it's (objectively) cute.

And it just quacks at Roxas, looking vaguely interested but otherwise does nothing else, seemingly chill and satisfied for the time being.]

[ Here's Cinque! ]

Oh hey, Blueski and Roxy!

[ And there' s a duck. hmm ]

It's feathers remind me of Roxy's hair.

[Speak of the devil and she'll waltz in at the tantalizing(?) smell of uncooked duck.

Aoi looks briefly startled but then the corner of her mouth turns up, because like... dude may not have a full duckbutt going, but.]

... I guess I can kind of see the resemblance. By the way, I'll go ahead and say this now, but this is Inaba-san's duck, okay? It's not for dinner.

[Or any other meal, but anyway.]

We've been using Morse code to talk to the ghosts, since it's a code language that doesn't need talking, just tapping. The duck is apparently going to help us with that?

[ Jaw's theme playing, except with every step of Cinque coming it gets louder until she speaks. ]

...It really looks that much like me?

[ Let's see about trying to pet the duck now. ]

How do you even know which tapping means what?

Roxas is now its new best friend.]

[ WOW. But she miiiiight have thought about it for a moment. ]

Hehe. Look at it's butt!

[ She loves you Roxas. She'll move closer to touch his bangs without interrupting his bonding moment with duck ]

[So if you're petting a semi-duckbutt while the duckbutt is petting a duck butt then who's the butt of the joke and who should be ducking? ☆

Anyway, what she would give for a camera right now?? Unrelatedly, Aoi's pretty sure Cinque would eat almost anything you put in front of her and the rest of them aren't going to be far behind if they run out of food, so we're laying down some dining ground rules for now. She's going to crouch and contemplate ducks.]

Just in case, Cinque. Anyway, Morse code is just patterns of sounds. So like... Roxas, your name would be... [.-. --- -..- .- ...] --like that.

[ Roxas can't help but think it's so cute that he's not planning on stopping the soft pets anytime soon. ]

Who's a good duck? You are.

[ Though at that, the blond looks up at Cinque- hey look if you're going to touch his bangs it is probably impossible to not interrupt his duck time and he ends up flailing a little in surprise and falling on his bum. ]

...What about 'you're a butthead'? What would that sound like?

[ Look they're going to meet the Outsider (maybe?) sometime and he kind of is thinking about messing with him when things are all clear. ]

[ Uh oh. Moment is ruined. She didn't mean to bill the mood. ]

Hehe. That does sound like you, too.

[ She offers a hand to Roxas to help him up. ]

But at least you're a cute butthead.

[Well, at least the duck is enjoying itself, and Roxas seems to know how to handle it, which likely makes one of them. Maybe one and a half, considering Cinque's fondness for chicken-adjacent creatures (Chocobo, that is).

The faint smile from earlier gets a little more amused when Roxas falls on his butt (but not on his butthead, this time).]

Why is that the first thing you want to learn? [she was the one who offered his name, so it doesn't count; anyway] All right, then. Try...

[She's going to lean over and take advantage of his predicament to tap on his head, because Cinque is a bad influence: -.-- --- ..- .----. .-. . / .- / -... ..- - - .... . .- -..]

You know what? That sounds like you too!

[ Roxas takes the hand carefully, huffing as he does so not realizing how silly his words just sounded just then, and then Aoi is tapping on his head, rude! ]

H-hey! I can't believe you just did that!

[ Then he's flailing and grab onto both of their sleeves as he falling over from the surprise again. Why is his life like this...?! ]

[ Giggling and not expecting the grabbing So is caught off balance. Pile up on Roxas? Cause that's what is going to happen. ]

Wee!

Ah--

[There's no pillows to break the fall this time??

Down they all go, Aoi letting out a small, muffled yelp as she tries to catch herself and probably just grabs a handful of Roxas' hair instead. This is what you get for starting a pile with Morse code. The duck is probably judging them by this point.]

... Jeez. I think I'm lying on somebody's elbow.

[ Roxas let's out a started noise that is kind of a little high pitched because suddenly there are people falling on top of him. There was also an 'ouch!' followed by that, and then he is just lying there, with his hair grabbed and ... yeah.

The price to being 5'2 and so small, why does this happen... ]

I think you guys are lying on everything on my back.

[ You know what you do when you're on top of a really good friend and with the person you have a date with?

You get cozy. Wiggling to fit better. Helping? ]

[ Also that's probably her elbow. ]

[Evidently, the universe has determined that Roxas is the duckbutt of this joke.]

Cinque... You're making it worse.

[She's also trying to shift to get away from the elbow but sounds kind of. Resigned. Pile hell has been a fairly reoccurring feature of her life since she got here and particularly since Cinque got involved. And she probably did bring this one halfway on herself. Still!

She does release Roxas' poor head.]

No, we can't do it again! Jeez...

[ At least his head's been released, and his hair is probably messy enough that it doesn't matter it was pulled on like that. ]
