Week 4 event

Friday morning comes and goes with no dead bodies to discover. Saturday morning passes with no trial. For two days, it seems like the Lady might be keeping to her word. This might truly be a week of rest, with no outside trouble brought in.
(She takes no responsibility for the incident in the vents, so.)
But then on Saturday night, close to midnight, the sound cuts off throughout the resort. The cause of the sudden quiet is unknown, but one thing is clear: something bad has happened.
Investigate?

Didn't think they'd get so mad about me trying to defend myself.
no subject
fairness is not to be expected from them

[Ripley watches Medic work, a trickle of sweat running down her face. She casts a glance towards the others, particularly Rean.]
To think that I trusted him... [She grimaces, shaking her head.] What're the kids saying?
no subject
both are foolish. one trusted himself and his ability to keep people safe too much. the other thinks he can work with a parasite, i suppose.
the kids think this can all be solved with the power of friendship. obviously.
no subject
Of course. Where was the power of friendship when he tore apart Cynthia? Or when he drained--
[Ripley grits her teeth and lets out a pained hiss.]
--I'm fine, keep working. [She sighs.] Just because things happen doesn't mean you can't take responsibility for your actions.
no subject
I believe he means it. that doesnt mean i forgive him or think anyone should
unfortunately, most of them already have, without him even doing anything to prove he deserves that forgiveness
[And, ok, a tiny part of him is a little bitter about that. Atsushi kills a girl and severely injures multiple others, and everyone flocks to saying he did no wrong. Meanwhile, Medic's made a conscious effort to tone himself down and act less. Exuberant to curb the distrust some of these teenagers and young adults have for him- the same distrust that got him killed.
Part of that has been natural- of course he doesn't like seeing kids die, he doesn't like these parasites killing and taking over teenagers and this resort forcing them to play in this game, and the longer its gone on the more morose he's gotten- but there has been some deliberateness behind it, and it's starting to exhaust him.]
no subject
Is he, now? Wonder if it took him dying in order to do that.
[She falls quiet, surprised at how unexpectedly bitter that sounded. She sighs, running her free hand through her hair.]
I'm sorry. He's probably here, isn't he?
[She doesn't want to be this bitter, dammit. If things could be solved through talking things out or...maybe just being nice to other people for a change, Ripley would appreciate it.
But the world doesn't work like that. An android sends your crew on a suicide mission for the sake of the company and expects you to come quietly. An alien threat slaughters your entire crew without any remorse or any attempt at communicating its intentions. Ripley hadn't forgiven them. Hell, she hadn't even forgiven herself for killing Dallas and Brent after they begged her to kill them.
A tiger beast slaughters someone and causes lethal injuries to multiple others and she's supposed to forgive him because he's sorry?]
We'll see about forgiveness when he brings Cynthia back to life.

He can't, but Ichigo and Szayel can. Eventually.
And I'm going to do what I can to learn the method they use, too.
I'm not trusting another person with recreating my body.
no subject
Lu--Medic, I don't know if it's the shock, or...everything that happened this week, but I'm starting to feel like I can't control anything that goes on around here.
[She tries to protect herself and Snake, she gets shot for her troubles. She warns Atsushi about being overconfident, and this happens.]
Please--if I do die, I'd trust you a lot more than some kid or the guy who sent us to die in the first place.
no subject
I'll try; I have no idea how difficult the process is but a steep learning curve has never stopped me before
no subject
[She winces again.]
I could use a goddamn break. We've been trapped in here for almost a month now, and sure, we've got the whole mafia thing figured out. But what good is it if we can't prevent people from being killed by them?
im sorry i cant be serious for an extended period of time
do you think the staff would give us weed if we asked for it
thank u nick
Okay, Ripley lets out a genuine, surprised laugh.]
Maybe the Staff can be a last resort. The greenhouse might have something.
[Honestly, the way this week is going...]
Besides, doesn't it get prescribed as medicine sometimes?
no subject
and phil even though he's not injured
... and me and bennings if it works on ghosts???
no subject
[She raises her free hand in mock anger. Because she knows once the teens get so much of a whiff of it they'll be all over it, unfortunately.]
