Week 4 event

Friday morning comes and goes with no dead bodies to discover. Saturday morning passes with no trial. For two days, it seems like the Lady might be keeping to her word. This might truly be a week of rest, with no outside trouble brought in.
(She takes no responsibility for the incident in the vents, so.)
But then on Saturday night, close to midnight, the sound cuts off throughout the resort. The cause of the sudden quiet is unknown, but one thing is clear: something bad has happened.
Investigate?

Jesus fucking Christ can he catch a break today
Atsushi is... very clearly a goner. While he desperately wants to go to Ripley and help her, Rean looks like he's the worst off of the two, so he trains his Medigun on him and gets to work.
Just wait till he finds out about Snake]

you look like you're in bad shape. what happened.
[Medic winces at the remains of Rean's arm as he works on wrapping a tourniquet. Once he's got that out of the way, he moves on to the spider limb. He doesn't seem all that phased by it.]

[He grunts as he speaks; with all the adrenaline, the pain had been easier to push through, and it was starting to get out of his system.]
It's just a blow to the ribs...could've been worse.
[As evidenced by Rean.]
no subject
youre lucky that there's people who need my attention more immediately or I would be strapping you to the nearest bed for the foreseeable future.
ribs broken?
no subject
If I didn't know better, I'd think you were coming on to me.
[But no. Someone's just died and there's a spider abomination here and it's kind of not the moment.]
Could be. I can't really tell.
[It just hurts like hell that's all he's got.]

another time
try not to move around much. dont want you puncturing a lung

[Said with considerable bitterness. He hates...everything about what just transpired, pretty much.
He sighs, and leans back against the wall.]
I'll try, but it's too late to tell me that now.

Didn't think they'd get so mad about me trying to defend myself.

fairness is not to be expected from them

[Ripley watches Medic work, a trickle of sweat running down her face. She casts a glance towards the others, particularly Rean.]
To think that I trusted him... [She grimaces, shaking her head.] What're the kids saying?
no subject
both are foolish. one trusted himself and his ability to keep people safe too much. the other thinks he can work with a parasite, i suppose.
the kids think this can all be solved with the power of friendship. obviously.
no subject
Of course. Where was the power of friendship when he tore apart Cynthia? Or when he drained--
[Ripley grits her teeth and lets out a pained hiss.]
--I'm fine, keep working. [She sighs.] Just because things happen doesn't mean you can't take responsibility for your actions.
no subject
I believe he means it. that doesnt mean i forgive him or think anyone should
unfortunately, most of them already have, without him even doing anything to prove he deserves that forgiveness
[And, ok, a tiny part of him is a little bitter about that. Atsushi kills a girl and severely injures multiple others, and everyone flocks to saying he did no wrong. Meanwhile, Medic's made a conscious effort to tone himself down and act less. Exuberant to curb the distrust some of these teenagers and young adults have for him- the same distrust that got him killed.
Part of that has been natural- of course he doesn't like seeing kids die, he doesn't like these parasites killing and taking over teenagers and this resort forcing them to play in this game, and the longer its gone on the more morose he's gotten- but there has been some deliberateness behind it, and it's starting to exhaust him.]
no subject
Is he, now? Wonder if it took him dying in order to do that.
[She falls quiet, surprised at how unexpectedly bitter that sounded. She sighs, running her free hand through her hair.]
I'm sorry. He's probably here, isn't he?
[She doesn't want to be this bitter, dammit. If things could be solved through talking things out or...maybe just being nice to other people for a change, Ripley would appreciate it.
But the world doesn't work like that. An android sends your crew on a suicide mission for the sake of the company and expects you to come quietly. An alien threat slaughters your entire crew without any remorse or any attempt at communicating its intentions. Ripley hadn't forgiven them. Hell, she hadn't even forgiven herself for killing Dallas and Brent after they begged her to kill them.
A tiger beast slaughters someone and causes lethal injuries to multiple others and she's supposed to forgive him because he's sorry?]
We'll see about forgiveness when he brings Cynthia back to life.
no subject
He can't, but Ichigo and Szayel can. Eventually.
And I'm going to do what I can to learn the method they use, too.
I'm not trusting another person with recreating my body.

Um... Medic, right? ....Thanks.
no subject
it's my job. even if you are(were?) trying to kill us, i suppose
how's the pain on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the worst
no subject
That's... probably where things get complicated now.
[But anyways, maybe it's better to focus on being a good patient for now.]
Uh... maybe an 8? It's been better since Makoto and Cinque healed me.
no subject
aside from the arm and the leg, are there any other injuries? i dont want to overlook anything, but obviously these are taking priority
[He goes back to cleaning his wounds with disinfectant.]
no subject
[Ye good olde days of two weeks ago or... something. Life felt a lot more black and white that time, at the least.]
No, that's pretty much it. It really could've been a lot-- [Oh wait let him cough a couple times there.] worse.
no subject
... How many times do I have to tell you kids that hiding things from your doctors is incredibly stupid
[Just. Pulls out a stethoscope and takes a listen to them Lungs. And the heart too, while he's at it.]
no subject
[His lungs... well, there's some abnormalities there that seem to indicate some degree of airway obstruction happening, although it's not like it sounds like it's fluid or anything. His heartbeat is slightly faster, but it doesn't really sound abnormal; that's probably just because of his breathing issues, honestly. But while Medic's checking him out, he'll answer the question at hand.]
I'm not so sure I'd use the word 'want', but I didn't have a problem with it. I can't say anything about the other two's reasons, but I wasn't really going to turn down an opportunity for a meal when it was presented to me.
no subject
Ah, animal instincts. So you would say that you were not coerced or forced into this role, then?
And what does Rean feel about the arrangement?
