INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.

((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Did you lose something?

[ flat goes over to atsushi, tilting his head a little when he sees him turn into the Anxiety Ball. perhaps he needs a friend? ]

Or is it that you don't like the snow? Is that it?

[A friend admittedly would not be a bad thing, but he might need a bit of convincing on that point. Still, he can at least manage to somewhat answer Flat's questions, even while in ball form.]

It's not even winter yet, there shouldn't be any snow!

Well...it's winter now. See?

[ he'll grab some snow? and try to put it close to atsushi? ]

I mean, it could all just be some high-level illusion or a Reality Marble, but I think I'd be able to see through those. And if you stay close to the ground like that, the cold's gonna get you faster and it would be terrible if you got frostbite or hypothermia or something like that. It's no good if you die!

Soooo come on up--!!

[ so he's...going to force atsushi up! yes, that's right he's literally going to try yanking atsushi up. ]

...eh?

[He's about to ask if a 'Reality Marble' is an ability, as well as insist that he will be fine, the cold won't get to him. But then he's being yanked up, and. Well. He's a bean pole so yanking him around is easy.]

Ah- hey-

[But he's standing up now at least?]

There you go! Now only your feet have a large chance of getting frostbite!

[ he announces in a rather chipper tone, despite what it would mean. ]

We gotta keep moving somewhere, you know? Even if this situation is kind of straight out of a horror movie, it would be terrible if we just froze to death, haha~.

Straight out of a- what???

[He knows what a horror movie is, the 'what' is more to show how baffled he is by Flat. But it's easy to just do what others are doing, so.]

I- A-alright? Where are we going though?

A horror movie! Have you never watched one?

[ when atsushi asks where flat's going, though, that does seem to get him to stop for a moment. he puts a finger to his chin, thinking and then-- ]

I don't know? But something seems to be drawing us to a place--ah, it's probably some sort of haunted cabin where we'll have to survive the winter!

But if it's haunted and this is a horror movie, isn't that a bad thing?

[He won't deny that he feels drawn to that same direction though, so that's probably the way they should go.]

Maybe, but at least we got a chance to survive there than definitely freezing to death here.

[ he'll tug atsushi's arm. ]

Besides, most horror movies have survivors, so it's not like we're cursed to die here.

If there's 'survivors' then don't most people die?!

[THAT ISN'T A GOOD THING.]

The we just gotta have a lot of survivors!

[I mean, good point, but why are you like this?]
