TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....wait, no, he's asleep.

The doors close, and...nothing happens. There's still the box labeled 'VOTES' in his lap on the couch, but...

On the table is a letter, that reads 'Only one person may be voted for execution this week. Please figure out who that will be during the time limit.'

As you finish reading that, music begins to play in the room...

[ That's said pretty quietly comparative to his usual tone of voice. ]

[he hears it and he whirls on his heel and immediately tries to punch Kohaku in the face]

[ Though Kohaku is also shocked by the development, the instincts of a man who's been fighting every day of his life don't slow down for it.

The punch is blocked by his arm, though that still does sting.

Is Akira going to attack again or does Kohaku get a second to sort this out in his head?]

[NOPE. he isn't. his punch is blocked, and Akira jerks back, arm falling stiffly at his side. it was mostly instinct that caused him to lash out, a flurry of emotion that overtook his moment of reason. when he looks back at this logically, he knows that his anger won't be fair-- they're all grasping in the dark here, and Akira's arguments for Cinque were no better than Kohaku's or Atsushi's for Minato]

[but he isn't thinking logically]

[he glares at Kokaku, gaze boring holes in him, before he turns on his heel and runs after the Lady]

[ That suits Kohaku just fine, because it means he doesn't have to think about what to say. One corpse more is nothing, one corpse more is to be expected, everyone will come back anyway if they only win, but... this is a step away from winning and that is what is getting to him. That is what he wants to think is the only thing getting to him, but had Akira looked at him longer... well. ]

[ He is still looking... since he hasn't mosied after Akira yet... ]

In the end, there won't be any winners to this game, anyway. In the end, someone had to die...

Yeah, no kidding.

[ Kohaku mostly sounds exhausted. ]

If we do the right thing, we get everyone back either way. It's kind of laughable like that.

[ But this is one chance at doing the right thing that was wasted. ]
