TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....wait, no, he's asleep.

The doors close, and...nothing happens. There's still the box labeled 'VOTES' in his lap on the couch, but...

On the table is a letter, that reads 'Only one person may be voted for execution this week. Please figure out who that will be during the time limit.'

As you finish reading that, music begins to play in the room...

That's a thought, but we don't have much to support it right now. If we're saying the monsters can't be tracked in any way through their transformation, then we have a lot bigger problems on our hands.

I have another theory about the glitter.

... Let's hear it, then.

Why did the Jorogumo have to wrap Shirou into a cocoon?

And why was there a folded towel near the pool with webbing on it?

... It was because they wanted to disguise the third monster as much as they could. If they used the cocoon and then the webbing to link it all together, then it made framing Owain-kun more complete.

That theory works for wrapping Shirou, but the towel?

If we're right, and the Jorogumo is actually weak to water, then the Doppelganger would have been the only one in the pool. Unless they made it look like the Jorogumo was involved there -- it would be too easy for us to tell.

What I'm getting at is there's a possibility the towel was used to clean up the glitter. It's possible the Jorogumo came by afterwards to cover the towel in webbing to hide this fact.

Was it really completely covered?

Is it actually necessary to cover the towel in webbing though? I mean, the pool was right there; they could have just tossed it in and I don't think anyone would have found out it was covered in glitter.

What caught my eye was the gold from the webs, not glitter. Though I confess I wasn't looking closely. If anyone wants to pursue this theory further, ask Tsumugi if she saw any glitter.

But then there would've been glitter in the pool water.

It's a pretty big pool, though. Unless the towel was completely caked in it, I think it'd be pretty hard to notice.

Well...each monster has their own unique abilities, right? Jorogumo has the webbing. Barghest has the puppy. What if the Doppelganger is the only one who can avoid detection via glitter because of their particular transformation ability?

That's a little farfetched, isn't it? If the Doppelganger was so good at avoiding detection, then why leave any trace at all? Besides, I still haven't heard a good reason for all this questioning.

I mean, we’ve also gotta consider that we can apparently only vote for one monster this time. I mean, the doppelganger is pretty dangerous, but... even if we can’t get them this time, we might get something else?

We have a lot of evidence pointing only to Owain-kun right now, which is acting as a shield for the Doppelganger. I think it might help to take another look at the Jorogumo and the Barghest's scenes. If they were both there for Shirou-kun's death, then that makes all the murders connected.

Yeah... considering the Jorogumo might’ve helped out the Doppelganger, we might wanna focus on getting rid of the spider person.

Not a bad idea. Even if Kurusu-san's line of questioning turns out to be right later, we don't want to decide anything until we're sure.

Plus I...it might be selfish of me, but I want to find out who the Jorogumo is.
