The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....wait, no, he's asleep.

The doors close, and...nothing happens. There's still the box labeled 'VOTES' in his lap on the couch, but...

On the table is a letter, that reads 'Only one person may be voted for execution this week. Please figure out who that will be during the time limit.'

As you finish reading that, music begins to play in the room...

That would be the best way to use the Levin Sword, yes. Dark Knights-- ah, that is, mounted soldiers that use swords and tomes, would be the best users.

What about when you use the sword, Owain-kun? What's the lightning output like? How well can you control it?

--I've inherited quite a fair bit of magic from my mother. She was a Sage and tried to teach me how to use staves and tomes, but I always followed after my father and chose the sword. Last week was the first time I truly used it and it was... more powerful than I expected.

Is it possible for someone not you to use the Levin Sword?

Yes, anybody can use it. It's not attuned to me, like say Mystletainn.

[ puts a hand on one of the swords at his waist ]

Is in intuitive? That is to say. . . could someone who has no idea how to activate the lightning activate it with no problem?

Or would they need to be familiar with your world and its magic to do so?

It's not a beginner weapon, like say a Bronze Sword, so someone would need to at least be intermediately trained with swords to be able to use it properly. As for if anybody could use it properly, they would need to at least know it's capable of doing so. It's a matter of willing the magic to activate to use it, different from staves and tomes where you need to know the incantation.

Who here knew that your sword was capable of shooting lightning?

I didn't arrive with it, but I requested it from the Staff, after seeing the sword that Iwai had gotten. I was curious if they could even provide it, but they managed it.

I used it in the ski area that day in the open to practice with it, though I only spoke to Cinque, Iwai, Gerome, Tsumugi, and Makoto about it.

And lastly: do you know why someone might want to frame you, assuming that they are?

My idea is that the Levin Sword is a unique enough weapon that it could only tie to me. While Mystletainn is a legendary sword, it and my Killing Edge, both have blades that aren't rather distinct and aren't capable of using magic at all. They're simple blades, used for stabbing.

Mmm.

And if that's true, then whoever is framing you-- if you are being framed-- would have to at least known in advance what the Levin Sword could do.

So that's Cinque, Iwai, Gerome, Tsumugi, and Makoto.

What about Cynthia-san? Does she know?

That's true. My cousin didn't see me use it, but I told her about it when I was offering sword lessons on Monday.

Though Gerome and Cynthia aren't trained to use swords.

I don't know if skill with a sword actually matters when a possessed monster is doing the killing.
