TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....wait, no, he's asleep.

The doors close, and...nothing happens. There's still the box labeled 'VOTES' in his lap on the couch, but...

On the table is a letter, that reads 'Only one person may be voted for execution this week. Please figure out who that will be during the time limit.'

As you finish reading that, music begins to play in the room...

[The hand seems to pull back before making some tapping noises.

One long tap. Followed by three long taps.]

[. . . if that's morse code Akira has no idea how to translate]

One tap for yes. Two for no.

[Two taps.]

[okay who else is tall enough to pat his head]

. . . Ichigo?

[Again, two taps.]

[That earns him a flick to the forehead.]

[slaps his hand against his forehead and scowls]

You're invisible, how else do you expect me to know who you guys are?

[Another two taps for him to answer his question, though. They seem to sound... a little frustrated, though.]

[a grumbled noise]

Medic? Granz-san? You have to be tall; you pat my head.

[He's

getting another flick of exasperation.]

[purrtagonist]

. . . Inaba?

[resortghosts]

[Just one sorry, sad tap.]

[Makes a bunch of useless taps that mean absolutely nothing but are there to show frustration.]

[purrtagonist]

Invisible, okay? And you said you weren't going to come to the trial!

[resortghosts]

[There is now a hand on his shoulder because it is difficult to explain this to him when he doesn't know Morse Code.]

[resortghosts]

[A few seconds later Akira wondered if Iwai would go over there and give sudden invisible headpats, someone else comes and gives him a quick and almost playful slap on the back of the head, just enough to lean Akira's head forward.

The message is clear: 'really, kid?']

[purrtagonist]

[oh my god. PITCHES FORWARD, now rubbing the back of his head]

. . . I thought death might've made you soft, old man.

[As if, hah!

Still, Iwai isn't going to give Akira a hard time. There's plenty of stuff to focus on, after all. Have an encouraging pat on the shoulder. This definitely feels like the kind the gruff old guy would give.
