WEEK 3 - TRIAL

TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....wait, no, he's asleep.

The doors close, and...nothing happens. There's still the box labeled 'VOTES' in his lap on the couch, but...

On the table is a letter, that reads 'Only one person may be voted for execution this week. Please figure out who that will be during the time limit.'

As you finish reading that, music begins to play in the room...

All of this...it's kind of weird, isn't it? The sword and now his smell is there too. Isn't that too convenient?

Probably, I know it's definitely Owain I had smelled there, but....

Seems like his sword was the murder weapon - it'd smell like him, too, whether or not he was the one to wield it.

[Ryoga drawls out, brows knitting]

That's what I'm thinking. It's like neon flashing lights pointing to Owain-kun, with the sword and the smell and even his room, but for some reason the Jorogumo is involved.

[She's put out a theory about it, but it's still kind of fuzzy for now.]

It feels like they're trying to lead us by the nose.

Both the Barghest and Jorogumo was there, yet Only one was at the other bodies.

So the Barghest was there for Shirou-kun, too? His death is definitely the strangest of the three...

[He nods in confirmation]

The Barghest has a really distinctive smell.

The smell information has been really helpful, you know. I think Akira-kun and Niijima-san were right, it's really weird that you'd only get Owain-kun's scent when you couldn't get the scents of the other possessed. The monsters must have a way of masking it.

So the question is... was Owain-kun's scent there because he wasn't a monster? Or did the third monster do something different?

Yeah, it seems like it's way too obvious with all the clues pointing in his direction.

We're going to have to look for other options, especially in Shirou-kun's case. But Pierce-san... What do you think of what happened to Inaba-san? It seemed like the Jorogumo was drinking in a strange way.

[Ask the blood drinking expert about the insides slorping, this checks out.]

Drinking strangely? In comparison to the last time?

[katherine just gives her a questioning look because how would she know?? it's not like the jorogumo is a vampire]

Yeah. It bit Inaba-san like it did Granz-san, I guess, but Himemiya-san said that there was another hole of some kind...

Maybe more than just one person involved then— or it was trying to throw us off entirely by using a different approach so we wouldn't be able to establish a pattern.

To be fair, I never saw what the wounds looked like the first time.

I didn't either so I'm not too sure what to make of it. [she did't see the bodies post death either this time and before too...]

[Ripley's gonna open up her tablet and take a closer look at those pics. Do they look the same as the bites that were on Syazel's body?]

[If it's inaba, Then yes, they do.

It's the exact same, along with the poison around the top bites and the general desiccation of the body.]

Oh! It's the same, then.

...Inaba's wounds match up.

[Ripley's hand tightens into a fist.]

Himemiya-san was thinking that there was more than one wound because they were trying to get more than blood, but I think I remember that Granz-san was all shriveled, right? How many bite marks did he have?

I'm just wondering...how did they make it happen?

[Wow that is some serious Sora shade, but then again Sora is everywhere so he asks for it.]

Hibiki-kun said that they might have gotten Owain-kun while he was unconscious and dragged him around, but wouldn't that leave some kind of trail, or more evidence? So maybe there are other ways to explain it.

Yeah, I don't think he was dragged around. But...I'm starting to think that it's something at work we haven't really seen before - everything's too strange for it not to be a frame. That's how I see it.

And if there's three kills that happened... I don't think it's too much to assume that all of the monsters were involved. So, it might have something to do with that, instead of it just being "it's the Jorogumo and the Barghest only".
