Week 3: Sleepover with Karaoke!

[The weekend is ever-creeping towards them, which means it's time for another gathering -- this time in the newly-accessible second floor, which comes with some of the amenities of the first but better. The soft room is pretty much ideal for this sort of thing, and if there are any windows someone's probably hung a blanket against the void.
Extra kotatsu from long-ago sleepovers have been brought up, there are snacks and drinks scattered amongst the endless blanket nests and pillow forts, and karaoke and the animal cafe are just next door. They can choose to head out for those attractions or bring in the pet animals of the cafe if they'd like. Anything is possible if you believe.]

I think you're thinking too hard.

You're thinking too hard.

can i just read it from your mind then?

Uh. ]
...
[ Welp, now he looks uncomfortable as he frowns hard at the question. At first. He visibly forces on a calm expression, complete with a nonchalant kind of shrug. ]
... Heh. You sure that's a risk you wanna take?

but since you're not related to the resort i don't think it'll make my eyes bleed or anything!

He stares at his phone for a long while.
After a quiet sigh, he shakes his head. Even he isn't sure why he says what he does next: ]
There's not much to see that I wouldn't just say to you, anyway...
[ With a sigh and shrug, he gives a vague gesture of "whenever you're ready, I guess"... ]

[ So. Reading those numbers, what kinds of thoughts does he get to see? ]
lmk if I need to edit it for the way he usually sees it!
[ It's said with a faint smirk...
Well, Vanitas is, in fact, thinking back to when he was created - back when he was nothing but a mindless tool for Master Xehanort (that name is in his thoughts a lot, really). He will definitely get to learn that Vanitas was extracted with a Keyblade from Ventus by that man. And that the extraction process actually broke Ventus for a while.
It jerks, however, into thoughts regarding lots of pain and loneliness and longing. All he wanted was to return to Ventus, after all.
But those thoughts are kind of jerky? Possibly difficult to latch onto? Vanitas is actively fighting to not think about that part. Just like he's struggling to not think about the time he lost his shit and slaughtered a ton of his Unversed (those creatures that are created from his emotions) - doing that caused him physical pain... but he couldn't stop for a while, until after he broke down into tears.
Vanitas hates the Unversed.
But, most of all, he hates being useless to the only one that ever gave him a purpose, before this place. Even knowing Master Xehanort could never have possibly loved him. ]

You don't need to know a thing about emotions to read them. It's why he never understood before; he never had a need to.
But things have changed since then, since he was alive. There's some uncertainty as he reads through the information those numbers bring, and he actually does go silent for a while digesting it.
Eventually, he does type: ]
so you were just looking for a purpose too, huh?

Lot of good it did me to find one.

[ Because he's just doing so well. ]
