Week 3: Sleepover with Karaoke!

[The weekend is ever-creeping towards them, which means it's time for another gathering -- this time in the newly-accessible second floor, which comes with some of the amenities of the first but better. The soft room is pretty much ideal for this sort of thing, and if there are any windows someone's probably hung a blanket against the void.

Extra kotatsu from long-ago sleepovers have been brought up, there are snacks and drinks scattered amongst the endless blanket nests and pillow forts, and karaoke and the animal cafe are just next door. They can choose to head out for those attractions or bring in the pet animals of the cafe if they'd like. Anything is possible if you believe.]

I got arrested for something I didn't do. My name was eventually cleared, but not before I was expelled from school and shipped off to Tokyo to serve out my sentence.

Someone provided false testimony to get me convicted.

And the person pressing charges was a high-ranking, corrupt politician.

i guess politics will always get nasty...

But they shouldn't be. Politicians are out to represent the people. They should have the best interests of those people at heart. Not their own delusions of grandeur.

Like I said, my name was eventually cleared and my record wiped clean.

[something fond and appreciative crosses his expression]

Thanks to my friends, who worked tirelessly to find the evidence to do just that.

[It's lighthearted, though there's a quiet sympathy somewhere underneath that's quite seriously tucking this away as food for thought. Or just in the general file of some-kind-of-Phantom-Thief-nerd. She looks thoughtful, though.]

I'm starting to get the feeling you and Shirou-kun and Kurosaki-san are more alike than one would expect.

[he responds as he turns to face her, and. . . he's grinning, slightly lopsided but oh-so amused]

[Is her answer, eyebrow quirked at him but relaxing a little at the grin.]

I get the feeling there's a pretty long story behind this Phantom Thief thing.

There is.

[he answers without hesitation, and in fully honesty]

Maybe one day, I'll tell you about it.
