Week 3: Sleepover with Karaoke!

[The weekend is ever-creeping towards them, which means it's time for another gathering -- this time in the newly-accessible second floor, which comes with some of the amenities of the first but better. The soft room is pretty much ideal for this sort of thing, and if there are any windows someone's probably hung a blanket against the void.

Extra kotatsu from long-ago sleepovers have been brought up, there are snacks and drinks scattered amongst the endless blanket nests and pillow forts, and karaoke and the animal cafe are just next door. They can choose to head out for those attractions or bring in the pet animals of the cafe if they'd like. Anything is possible if you believe.]

[ Kohaku is gracing you all with his presence at Karaoke, but you're all probably wishing he didn't. Are you hitting all the notes? He'll let you know. Definitely.
He's not even singing anything himself, he's just here to give... uh... advice, to others. Unless you're a trained pro singer, preferably in classical music, he's probably not fully satisfied with your sound. ]

God, can't anyone here sing something with more depth behind it?? I'm starting to miss our vocalist and I'd rather not experience that feeling ever again.

[ ex-fucking-cuse me she had plenty of depth!!!! ]

[Minato is thoroughly untrained, even if he has a nice voice, so like--]

Oh...

[huh.]

Do you have any tips?

[ Yeah, Minato's voice is decent at baseline, so Kohaku's going to actually take this seriously. ]

You don't sing regularly, do you? A lot of technique in music can only be picked up with regular practice. Singing scales helps you get an ear for tone - also works to warm up your voice before singing, which you should be doing, especially if you don't sing every day as is.

Oh, I see...

[Huuuh...!]

Those are really good suggestions. Most of the singing I've done has been karaoke and things like this, but I really enjoy it. I guess I should start taking it more seriously, right?

You should. Your voice isn't bad at baseline, you just got no idea how to use it properly.

[ And as much as a craft you don't love is worthless, loving something without putting effort in is equally worthless in Kohaku's eyes. ]

Oh... thanks.

[Coming from him, he feels like that's something he should appreciate it.]

It's true that I've never really considered being a singer seriously, but... it sounds like fun to try to improve like that. Any other things I should do?

Sounds like a lame excuse to avoid effort to me!

[ No matter what kind of idol you are, if you're going to sing, sing properly! ]

This is painful to listen to, your voice's good but if you don't learn proper breathing it'll never carry without the help of this thing.

[ Gestures at the microphone. They don't have those in his world either. The singer of his orchestra fills the concerts without any aid. ]
