You are here to find the killer...and convict one of your own, in a murder that makes no sense.

The Body of Evidence of the Body

I found his body on the bridge near the boat house. It - He was Tangled up in a net after he fell into the water.

His body was frozen, so the time of death would've been nearly impossible to determine with what tools we have. Cause of death seems to be drowning, though it's clear he had fallen a short distance. Furthermore, before he went in. Three of his fingers on his right hand, and some locks of his hair was cut off - both likely by the same small knife.

there's traces of blood and snow on the bridge - and footprints going to and from the waterfalls and then to the inn.

Were the fingers cut while he was alive?

It was a little hard to tell with the state of his body, but it seems most likely it was Post-mortem

So Atsushi was pushed and drowned, then the same person must have dragged him out... no wonder the fishing net was there. And then once he was dead, his fingers were cut off, most likely along with his hair.

I didn't find it on him when I was looking for contact traces of the culprit...

We should do a weapon check, but with the water right there it probably washed whatever they used. But can't hurt to check.

Yeah they definitely could have tossed it too so it could be harder to tell but still I don't think it would hurt to check just in case.
