[Well, it appears the detective is still good at his job, because near the bridge in the area, there's a torn and tangled net strapped to it.

...And in the net...is a body.]

[His eyes widen slightly, as he shifts into a bloodhound demeanor, moving in close, can he tell from first glance who was tangled up in the net?]

[He can - after all, that hair of his is quite distinctive. The net lies, partially still in the river along with the body - which Sherlock will have to drag out and untangle if he wants to inspect it closer.

However, there's no mistaking who this is, with his white hair with a streak of black going through it, and those curious yellow-purple eyes.

Atsushi Nakajima is dead.]

[He adjusts his gloves, and with a grunt, he goes to pull the net and the body out of the water]

Damn it... I hate floaters.

[As he pulls Atsushi out, he'll realize the body is frozen solid from the way it thunks and the general stiffness of it all.

Once it's on the shore, it's easier to see he's missing three fingers from his right hand, but cause of death is hard to guage with the net still on him and covering a lot of him.]

[Bodies shouldn't go 'thunk'. Then again, the river would be quite cold. He takes a picture of the hand, before he kneels, carefully untangling the net.

Thank god he hadn't started to bloat, but the cold state would make determining an estimated time of death much harder]

[As the net untangles, Atsushi's SOUL floats up, apparently having hidden inside of it.

It's clear from the way his eyes look that he died from drowning - with little notes of a fall having happened.

The fingers were clearly cut off by something, and some of his hair has been hacked off crudely.]

[Good, it's still there. Time to fetch someone to get a soul container, but before that...

can he tell how long the drop was?, and examining the fingers, based on cuts on the flesh and any scrapes on the remaining finger bones.... What kind of object made these cuts?

[A shorter drop - like falling from, say, a bridge.

The fingers tell it was a knife, but probably on the smaller side]

[Does it look like He was in the net before or after he fell into the water?.

And he will look at the cut strands of hair for a trace of Blood to discern the order of cutting if the water didn't wash away the evidence, as well as examine his clothes, fibers, blood... any contact traces?]

[After he fell.

There doesn't seem to be any blood or contact traces on the body, but since he's looking for it... he'll see traces of blood and snow on the bridge itself.

There's also a trail going to and from Waterfall and towards the inn.]
