Monday comes onto the snowy town once more, though it still looks as if it's 'night' as ever.

Then again, you are underground. That's just to be expected, considering no natural light can get down here in the first place. The Monsters around you are just as friendly as ever, despite this being your fourth 'time' trying this monday.

There doesn't seem to be many Monsters here...or at least, you think there was more before? Huh.

Well, whatever.

You still have a mission - And with three trials under your belt, you're now a little closer to figuring things out.

Okay, so I don't have to explain the basics. Back home I learned a little about how to mess with games. Little exploits and tricks, you know? Read it in a book. My friend Futaba told me some other stuff, showed me some videos.

All that garbled stuff we saw at the trial got me thinking. We've just been kinda accepting the UI stuff, the game logic here. But Yoshi talked about how the numbers are slowing down, that data looked corrupted.

If this... thing... is working on monster logic. Like a game... then maybe we can use that. Games can be exploited. Broken if you do things its rules aren't built to handle. And this game is already running like shit.

I want to cheat.

Well, some games are more fun to peek under the hood than to play. Also, consider this possilbity: Our opponent is playing the game, but they're also cheating.

Some games have exploitable glitches that make it markedly easier on the player but results in the game being unstable and more prone to crashing.

Right right. If you look at it from the perspective of the characters it's like a childish god fiddling with the works and not caring that everything is destroyed.

If we can do the same though, maybe we can use it to fight back... but this is all theory, you know? I don't want to blow through my one use items on theories... not unless I have a good reason to think I'll get results. So, experiments.

Good idea, we may need to save those things for when it counts - of course, logic like that is why I never use full heals....

You know I was fighting a literal god back home and I was still thinking 'Hm, I might need this item later though' and didn't realize what I had done 'till I learned my life is a jrpg. It's really surreal.

Yes. That would be the same one. I'm apparently considered a 'limited' Servant. I did know of an Archer in Chaldea, but the one Miss Red is dating is not the same one.

Huh... yeah, I think my brain is starting to bleed now.

If it helps at all... where I am from - the multiple-worlds theory is a confirmed phenomenon among those in the know - with infinite worlds branching out into separate timelines. So the Archer you know is from a different branch than I am.

[He holds back on how some of those worlds get pruned away or collapse under their instability]

Not so different from the Sea of Fragments stuff, right? Explains why each Joker I've meet have been different too, even though our experiences are mostly the same.

A bit like the idea that the flapping of a butterfly's wing could cause a hurricane, or the lack of a horseshoe nail leads to the fall of a kingdom.

[He gestures, hands curling as if holding a pipe]

even the smallest bit of discrepancies can result in wildly differing outcomes.
