[CONTINUE + 2] INTRO

[After so long a trip, you're all finally here. Taken through a hidden passage inside of the very mountain itself, you find yourself standing in front of a field of flowers, growing well due to the open roof above it. If you look up, you can just make out the shimmering colors off of the barrier - looking almost like the shine off of a soap bubble.
Try not to trample on the flowers as you approach the open, purple gate, where it looks as if someone is waiting for all of you just inside. And remember to wear your masks, now that you're here!
...Still, the sight of the yellow flowers waving in the wind....such a cheery sight fills you with determination for what's to come.
Welcome to the Underground.
...Again. The loop happened again, and you're here. Everything is the same.
Someone who was dead is alive again.
...The man, who's name you forgot...You've also forgotten what he looked like.
Not only that, But more monster names have faded from your memory.
Ghost? There was never a ghost in these ruins, or in Waterfall. You have no memory of them.]

Eh... to think Gilgamesh could be a cuter kid than adult...

Some of us have skills or stories that could qualify us multiple ones, so it is rare but possible for one person to be summoned several times in different aspects of themselves.

It does seem I can relate a little. At least in the, ah... people tend to know your history before they know you--in a completely different fashion, of course--way. There has been at least one other me and one impostor here, so far... not to mention this world's Dazai Osamu.

And not helping there is an absolutely dreadful TV show that's an alleged modern adaptation of my cases. If it were possible, I would sue that hack of a director for slander.
Though I do have at least the fortune of not having to follow another 'me' act in personal relations.

[but he does look amused about the want to sue.]
Have you found an adaptation you did appreciate, at least, in concept?

... I admittedly haven't even really looked into my own, ah, "canon".
[fingerquotes]
Instead I read the, ah, "source material" which inspired it?

[lol. there's. just. no better way to put it.]
The author Dazai Osamu based a lot the story in the book titled No Longer Human off of his own life. My ability was called No Longer Human and my name is Dazai Osamu. But the events in that book don't really match up with my experiences so much as the... ah... themes? I guess...
So it's not really a one-to-one, but it does feel a little uncomfortable, I suppose...?

cw: suicide mentioned
That Dazai Osamu knew and was friends with Sakaguchi Ango and Oda Sakunosuke, too.
If it's the one constant aside from all of the suicide attempts... that's the best I could hope for, really.
How miserable it must be to be the Dazai Osamu from the world where that wasn't the case.
