[CONTINUE + 2] INTRO

[After so long a trip, you're all finally here. Taken through a hidden passage inside of the very mountain itself, you find yourself standing in front of a field of flowers, growing well due to the open roof above it. If you look up, you can just make out the shimmering colors off of the barrier - looking almost like the shine off of a soap bubble.

Try not to trample on the flowers as you approach the open, purple gate, where it looks as if someone is waiting for all of you just inside. And remember to wear your masks, now that you're here!

...Still, the sight of the yellow flowers waving in the wind....such a cheery sight fills you with determination for what's to come.

Welcome to the Underground.

...Again. The loop happened again, and you're here. Everything is the same.

Someone who was dead is alive again.

...The man, who's name you forgot...You've also forgotten what he looked like.

Not only that, But more monster names have faded from your memory.

Ghost? There was never a ghost in these ruins, or in Waterfall. You have no memory of them.]

Goodness, do we really need a younger version?

He's actually the tolerable one - lacks the ego of himself as a king and an adventurer. A fairly polite young boy, actually.

No way. Most children are complete sociopaths.

Really depends on the child, I would say - though he is not above making a little mischief.

[... not gonna say it, but like. completely obvious where he formed his opinion on kids.]

Eh... to think Gilgamesh could be a cuter kid than adult...
improbablenotimpossible: (A bit of make up work)

[personal profile] improbablenotimpossible 2020-08-23 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Still somewhat questionable fashion taste, but cuter. Thankfully the two adults aren't inclined to collude with each other.

There's a relief. The world can barely handle one Gilgamesh at a time, let alone two or three.
improbablenotimpossible: (A smoke break)

[personal profile] improbablenotimpossible 2020-08-23 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I suppose I should explain a bit about that - Heroic Spirits such as myself, Gilgamesh... and the Professor, there's you can say 'roles' that are used to summon us.

Some of us have skills or stories that could qualify us multiple ones, so it is rare but possible for one person to be summoned several times in different aspects of themselves.

Mm, I wouldn't mind knowing more.

It does seem I can relate a little. At least in the, ah... people tend to know your history before they know you--in a completely different fashion, of course--way. There has been at least one other me and one impostor here, so far... not to mention this world's Dazai Osamu.
improbablenotimpossible: (You see but do not observe)

[personal profile] improbablenotimpossible 2020-08-23 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
[He gives a faint scowl of annoyance and sighs, gesturing with annoyance]

And not helping there is an absolutely dreadful TV show that's an alleged modern adaptation of my cases. If it were possible, I would sue that hack of a director for slander.

Though I do have at least the fortune of not having to follow another 'me' act in personal relations.

[personal profile] cw_suicide 2020-08-23 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Mm, and the videos of the house, also...

[but he does look amused about the want to sue.]

Have you found an adaptation you did appreciate, at least, in concept?
improbablenotimpossible: (My brain rules my heart)

[personal profile] improbablenotimpossible 2020-08-23 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well... A few actually - there's an American production a few years back where they had a woman play Watson - they didn't try to hapzardly adapt my cases into the modern setting blindly.

What a relief!

... I admittedly haven't even really looked into my own, ah, "canon".

[fingerquotes]

Instead I read the, ah, "source material" which inspired it?
improbablenotimpossible: (You know my methods)

[personal profile] improbablenotimpossible 2020-08-23 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I am a little too curious for my own good sometimes. And what was your impression of the 'source material'?

[personal profile] cw_suicide 2020-08-23 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It's very depressing!

[lol. there's. just. no better way to put it.]

The author Dazai Osamu based a lot the story in the book titled No Longer Human off of his own life. My ability was called No Longer Human and my name is Dazai Osamu. But the events in that book don't really match up with my experiences so much as the... ah... themes? I guess...

So it's not really a one-to-one, but it does feel a little uncomfortable, I suppose...?
improbablenotimpossible: (Let me ponder the matter further)

[personal profile] improbablenotimpossible 2020-08-27 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I can only imagine, most of my stories are based on my life... well, the parts I allowed to be published. While you're being compared to a nigh-identical stranger.

cw: suicide mentioned

[personal profile] cw_suicide 2020-08-27 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
... there are some things that are the same.

That Dazai Osamu knew and was friends with Sakaguchi Ango and Oda Sakunosuke, too.

If it's the one constant aside from all of the suicide attempts... that's the best I could hope for, really.

How miserable it must be to be the Dazai Osamu from the world where that wasn't the case.
