[CONTINUE + 2] INTRO

[After so long a trip, you're all finally here. Taken through a hidden passage inside of the very mountain itself, you find yourself standing in front of a field of flowers, growing well due to the open roof above it. If you look up, you can just make out the shimmering colors off of the barrier - looking almost like the shine off of a soap bubble.
Try not to trample on the flowers as you approach the open, purple gate, where it looks as if someone is waiting for all of you just inside. And remember to wear your masks, now that you're here!
...Still, the sight of the yellow flowers waving in the wind....such a cheery sight fills you with determination for what's to come.
Welcome to the Underground.
...Again. The loop happened again, and you're here. Everything is the same.
Someone who was dead is alive again.
...The man, who's name you forgot...You've also forgotten what he looked like.
Not only that, But more monster names have faded from your memory.
Ghost? There was never a ghost in these ruins, or in Waterfall. You have no memory of them.]

No one was in a better position to do it than he. And worst case scenario, he knew Undyne would be there, so he figured either way there'd be a enough of a lull to stop the worst happening altogether.
But...he will frown for a little bit when it's pointed out he almost died, unable to hide the reaction that, and rarely, a hint of his own weariness. He still didn't fear his death; not anymore. That was a long time ago, though he did feel a touch bad he worried Solomon so. ]
Very well. Then I will stay with you for awhile.
[ ... ]
...Even considering what happened, I've no desire to simply rest. Two heads are better than one, aren't they? Especially since we are back at square one.

but it had still gone wrong. if they hadn't piled on top of gilgamesh, sherlock still would have died.
and even after that-- ]
Damn it, you really make it hard for me to stay angry at you. Which I still am, by the way.
[ but logically, they could not have answers for everything. it has never been that way. not that it makes it any less painful, however.
with a sigh, he moves to give golden king some space next to him. ]
So it seems that we still do not have a condition for those that are "erased". Both you and Sherlock were possessed, but you two came back. So mere possession doesn't count. And yet I can tell that I have forgotten even more of the monsters in this place, as our fragment slowly becomes swallowed up.

...Really, he's kind of pleased they were able to rescue someone at least, despite the restart. ]
But, not as angry as you were before, am I wrong? Besides, can you truly stay as much when you are looking at a face like this?
[ Look at this face. This was what you had to suffer through, Solomon. ]

...It did, however, confirm an idea I had discussed with Gio before—that our enemy cannot possess multiple individuals simultaneously at once. They have to do it one at a time.
I do have another theory that the reason Sherlock and I survived, despite being possessed, would be due to the nature of our SOULs. It may be that when one is possessed, it can put a stress on one's SOUL. Obviously, Monsters simply don't have what's required in order to properly sustain the strain, and it doubly leaves them more vulnerable for that creature to take their being, erasing it in its entirely.
Whereas with those like us...another condition may have to be fulfilled.
...Though, obviously I've nothing to really prove this is the case, it's something to consider.

[ even though there's emphasis on the last word, it holds no real venom. if anything, it's something closer to a jab or a tease rather than anything negative. it was just the nature of their relationship, intense and yet as firm as bedrock.
and when gilgamesh gets closer to him, he'll reach out to hold his hand in his own. he listens intently, wracking his own thoughts as well as he tries to piece their theories together.
hm. ]
But...were all the monsters that disappeared possessed? It does not help that we have these holes in our memory, but alas I am not sure if there is a way to preserve any sort of memory of those that we have lost.
Perhaps for us...our condition is that we need to be thrown into the Core. Only that way will we be weakened enough for it to take our SOULs.
[ ... ]
I wish to take it up with the Queen, but without more concrete evidence, she may just believe that I am talking nonsense.

[ Gilgamesh couldn't help but chuckle; as usual, they were in their usual habit of going back and forth with their brand of teasing.
His fingers did give Solomon's hand a squeeze. In retrospect, he's ultimately relieved he's able to still do this, despite everything. ]
For now, I'm assuming that all the monsters that were erased had been possessed at some point, and that it's due to the fact that our enemy is on the move, just as we are. We cannot presume that they have simply remained stationary and in wait until every Thursday, so it'll be for the best to think they've been up to other activities of their own.
That said, I believe you're right in regards to what our 'condition' would be.
[ ... ]
...Perhaps you could simply ask if she happened to know of any entities that have the power to possess someone by taking a hold of their SOUL. That would be a start, at any rate.

but he can't deny that his heart does skip a beat when the other's hand tightens around his. for a moment, he feels relieved. ]
I can try asking her, but I believe that I know what answer she will give: no. [ hm... ] But I suppose there is little harm in trying, especially if things continue to reset.
[ ... ]
Though I am curious about Red...this is the second time that she appears to us. At the same moment as well. It almost feels as if she is hiding from us.

[ But, Gilgamesh had a lot of luck himself so he'd like to say it'd just naturally rub off on Solomon. Though maybe that was being a bit too hopeful... ]
I imagined that she, at some point, becomes aware of our existence as 'Monsters', and doesn't make contact. It may be that not only does she feel it's safer for her to keep from making contact, but that it is true on some level.
[ He's not too sure about the latter, but look at what happened with ———, so maybe...it was kind of true. ]
Either way, with such a commotion like that of a trial, it's something that would catch her attention eventually, and she'd arrive, regardless of the circumstances.

[ solomon thought they weren't doing too badly until they decided that the best way to deal with a possessed team member was piling on top of him and pepper spraying his face.
ah well, at least it worked. ]
Though that moment before we were once again thrown into darkness...
[ ... ]
Did it not appear to you like the possessed Monster was laughing at her?
no subject
They act like she's a goddess, really. So far he hadn't really been all that impressed until she actually helped them out in the previous trial.
...Anyway, sometimes pepper spray is the cure all for possessions. He's kind of idly wondering why Monsters don't sell it; though it's not like they'd know to prepare for that sort of thing. ]
It did. Though, why I couldn't say. Perhaps it thought it simply hilarious she was there, or that it had erased her Servant. We also still remember that woman well enough, so it didn't have much of a chance to do anything to her either.
What did you think of it?
no subject
solomon stays silent for a while, remembering the scene. it was hard to see because of the damn pepper spray, but if the blurs were anything to go by, then... ]
I do believe that "it" was laughing at her. We do not know what she has experienced in this place, considering that she has been here for longer than us. And while that professor told us he had been here for a month before us... he had gone after Red. So perhaps there are things that even he didn't know...or that he didn't want to tell us. To protect his Master.
no subject
....
Red was an actual 9/10 whereas Ishtar was a 3 at best. Anyway... ]
So you believe it laughed at her in an attempt to simply mock her? There's no doubt that man had likely came across some sort of important information, but I also doubt he figured out as much as he liked.
Unfortunately at this point it's hard to say what may or may not be true on this subject. Other than the fact that I will enjoy wiping such over confidence from our enemy away as it faces its well deserved judgment.
