Monday comes onto the snowy town once more, though it still looks as if it's 'night' as ever.

Then again, you are underground. That's just to be expected, considering no natural light can get down here in the first place. The Monsters around you are just as friendly as ever, despite this being your second 'time' trying this monday.

...Though....are there a few less Monsters here than there were before? ...Nah. You must be imagining it.

You still have a mission - and after the events of the last trial, you want to do your best to stop whatever is causing this.

But, hey. You really do have nothing but time now to figure it out.

N... no, I was just gonna say hi.

[ Giovanni makes his way up next to Gil, peering sideways at him. ]

How you holding up, Super King?

Oh? I can't remember the last person who would dare to greet me so casually.

[ King Solomon, as always, didn't count, and he hardly would call anyone greetings given by him to be 'casual'. But maybe that's because he assigned such a huge amount of worth to him. ]

I am 'holding up' just fine. What's made you ask such a question?

[ ... yeah he was absolutely unused to people asking him a question like that. The only one who ever would ask him something like that would be Solomon. Though, it's not like he's questioning the motive, more like he was curious about why (Undyne wasn't wrong about him being emotionally like a walnut.) ]

Well, remember him, because now that person's me, buddy! Come on, you know you like it.

[ There is not, in fact, a great deal of evidence that Gilgamesh knows this. ]

Well, you know, stuff's been pretty wacky with all these time loop shenanigans, and you're... not really the kind of guy who talks too much about their feelings.

[ He's not going to bring up the walnut comparison himself, but, well. It's not inaccurate. ]

And you were standing up here looking like something was on your mind. Something other than the pitiful, meaningless existence of the people around us or whatever you just said, anyway. So. Spill?

[sageking]

[ ...Not at all, but it does make him chuckle. ]

What nonsense. But, I'll suppose I'll allow for however long it amuses me.

[ He'll smile to himself that's far more like a smirk and he'll look out in front of the environment before them, letting a bit of silence hold as he listened to the other. It's true, he's hardly talked about his feelings all that much. The most has been Solomon...even when he was in that accursed house, it was hard.

But, it had been mostly unnecessary. A weakness. ]

You're concerned? Well, even if it's a waste of time, I've nothing I have been holding in. [ Or, well...actually. ] Though, I've contemplated heavily on what the final confrontation between our enemy would look like. Not out of any concern or whathaveyou, but simply...a sense of practicality.

[soupervillain]

[ :3c ]

Our enemy, huh? The thing that's eating the timeline or whatever? Yeah, I've totally been working on ways to fight it too, and only crying in fear half the time I think about it! But without our powers, there's... Well. Less ways to fight it. A lot less. What've you been coming up with?

[sageking]

Don't push your luck, mongrel.

[ He'll huff, but listen closely to Gio's words. He won't berate him for the fear or...the crying. Maybe his expression relaxed slightkt despite looking like it usualky did.

...Existential erasure on top of possession and everything else made for a terrifying opponent. Anyway, he'll suddenly begin to leave the cliff area and head to the safe place to discuss. ]

[ Annnd once they were there, he'll talk: ]

I've been thinking that we desperately need more information, before we even are able to come up with a way to fight them. We need to start trying some tactics to see how far the influence of that insect reaches. There has to be a limit, Gio. Otherwise we'd have all been taken care of already.

We could attempt something I had discussed with Solomon before involving immobilization if we're able to observe someone who has been taken over. The hurdle there would be the idea that our enemy could presumably hop between others. But, I do doubt that simultaneous 'control' of many parties at once is a capability our opponent has.

During this observation we can make, perhaps sometime on a late Thursday night, we'd have many still awake. Whether or not shifts would be possible is up in the air.

Beyond that, once we're able to find a limit, we'll need to discover a way for everyone else to be able to ward off possession. Perhaps we could find some sort of armor or something that would protect against that...

If we're able to manage that, looking into a way to track down our enemy would be next, as well as an idea to bind or keep them in place while figuring a way to disable their other capabilities.

In short, this is all I have for the moment. Provided we're able to obtain more information and whatever we can use to our advatange, it's not inconceivable I, Solomon, or even one of those mongrels can think of a useful plan.

[ It's all Giovanni can do just to keep up with this torrent of ideas. His own brilliant strategies had all really boiled down to "punch it hard and try not to die", but it sounds like Gilgamesh's kingly brain has been hard at work, and his plans actually seem like they might go some way toward stopping this thing. Giovanni feels a surge of renewed captainly affection, and something else, small and tentative, beneath it. Hope? ]

Hey, you know? Listening to all that... I kinda feel like we might be okay.

[ He hovers a hand over Gilgamesh's shoulder, unsure exactly how far he can push the whole affection thing. ]

I know I'm the boss, but I'm delegating the strategy stuff to you. Make me proud, Super King.

[sageking]

I'll allow it.

[ He meant in regards to the shoulder touch.

Gilgamesh saw that hope there, and what could he do but find himself feeling satisfied he incurred such a thing at all? But then again, he was the King of Heroes. It was a natural thing for him to be able to do when he so desired or even just by existing. ]

...Again with that statement of you being the boss. Luckily, I will simply allow you to entertain as much, even when in reality it is you who are subservient to me, as a King's sovereignty is absolute. Such is the grand scope of my magnanimity.

But all the same, I have to say that it is only natural we shall be. You, myself, Solomon, and the others had gone through such an impossible-seeming situation before. Not to mention, as I've said to Solomon, just by myself being here, the success of this mission is absolute.

[ He truly believed that, even if there was his usual brand of arrogance in there. Not even the loss of his powers had dampened that, even if it had made him really miffed. ]

Yeah! You know what? Yeah, you're right! We beat a murder house full of spider ghosts, didn't we? We can kick anything else's butt!

[ That previously hovering hand claps down solidly on Gilgamesh's shoulder. Giovanni's animated by a new sense of purpose. All they have to do is find a way to bring back their forgotten comrade, prevent anyone else from getting killed or erased, and defeat the unknown being that may or may not be literally eating time itself. For them? Piece of cake. ]

[sageking]

[ He'll let out another chuckle.

At this time, he's definitely wearing that blindingly golden armor of his, so there was probably whatever sound that's expected when a hand came into contact with it. ]

I see you've come around to acknowledge such an irrefutable fact—though I suspected you would as an eventuality. Indeed, if there's anything I've learnt about most of us...it is that we're a rather stubborn, resilient, and determined group. Something of which I believe was and still is something to take pride in.

...Though, do not think I will start talking about the beauty of friendship and bonds and such things.

[ ...

It's times like these, though back then he never spoke all that much with Gio personally, he supposed allowing some leniency like he had before wasn't too bad. The man didn't have an absurdly deceitful or self-righteous part to him in the slightest. ]

[soupervillain]

[ ...Ow. That kinda hurt his hand. But Giovanni shrugs it off. He's got the power of friendship and anime on his side! ]

Nah, I'd wonder what kinda weirdo they replaced you with if you did.

[ Probably a weirdo like Giovanni himself, tbh. ]

But I know you're thinking about it, deep down. ...Way deep down.
