Not the kind of monsters here. They were other SCPs. A Jorogumo had possessed one of our group and was using him to kill others for food. Inaba was one of the ones who got eaten.

Well... I can't say that wasn't a very foolish sort of promise to make in these circumstances.

Inaba-chan is very smart and she knew well enough that there's no predicting this sort of thing. She'd also know you'd beat yourself up about it and would probably know what to do to tell you "it wasn't your fault" and make you listen, wouldn't she?

Besides which... there are still fights to protect her to be had. She's in a very vulnerable state with just the SOUL, isn't that so? So... until we get back to the surface, keeping to that promise is imperative.
