RECORDING 13: THE FIFTH WEEK.

A fifth week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. It's practically routine at this point, isn't it?

Routine, also is the feeling when you wake up - it's clear the Miasma has gotten even thicker. Now everyone is at level 4 - barring the two 'lucky' negators among you, you are all suffering the effects, your eyes flashing a deep, dark purple when experiencing negative emotion.

Any magic that touches the house itself will corrode over time, just like last week. If a barrier is put in place and touches the floor, walls, or ceiling, in a few hours it will be completely consumed by the miasma and fizzle out. Spells or seals will also give off miasma, and healing is still reduced to even the most powerful of spells only healing minor injuries.

You will not be able to save a grievously injured person from death through spells anymore.

The Temperature has taken another dip. It's now in the 50's, and nippy to need a layer or two. As before, the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.

[The rather sudden change in posture and attitude doesn't escape him, although initially he's more confused than anything else. But that quickly evaporates when he sees the message on her notepad, which he roughly brushes aside once he's grasped the point of the note.]

Yeah, well then it's a good thing I don't get paid to comfort assholes! Besides, what the hell were you expecting? Did you want me to magic your damn daughter here?

[She yanks it back and starts to write out: "YES" before having a bit of a pause over the fact... that would mean her daughter was at risk of dying terribly and becoming a ghost, wouldn't it?

She crosses that out before writing her next note:

"I just miss her. Is that okay? 'Grieving mother gets to be emotional about missing her daughter,' is that too much to ask? It's free time, anyway, and I shut up when you pounded on the door, no one forced you to come in here!"

She turns it.]

[The false start might have been worth thinking about before, but right now, he's irate enough to completely disregard that.]

And you're the one who blew up on me first. I was just trying to help before you got pissed off at me for no reason!

[She turns her head and goes back to crying.]

[There's a long silence from him as he watches the tears return. He doesn't make an attempt to comfort her this time though, as he stands up and walks over to the nightstand to pour out a glass of wine before downing it quickly and looking back at her.

Does it look like she's going to stop anytime soon, or...?]
