RECORDING 13: THE FIFTH WEEK.

A fifth week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. It's practically routine at this point, isn't it?

Routine, also is the feeling when you wake up - it's clear the Miasma has gotten even thicker. Now everyone is at level 4 - barring the two 'lucky' negators among you, you are all suffering the effects, your eyes flashing a deep, dark purple when experiencing negative emotion.

Any magic that touches the house itself will corrode over time, just like last week. If a barrier is put in place and touches the floor, walls, or ceiling, in a few hours it will be completely consumed by the miasma and fizzle out. Spells or seals will also give off miasma, and healing is still reduced to even the most powerful of spells only healing minor injuries.

You will not be able to save a grievously injured person from death through spells anymore.

The Temperature has taken another dip. It's now in the 50's, and nippy to need a layer or two. As before, the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.

[ It's not nothing!!! There's a bit of a pout at that, but. T-that sounded like a positive thing, maybe, so? ]

I wouldn't say I need help, exactly, but...

[ What's a non-pathetic way to tell someone you'd like them to stick around because you like them and you're lonely and someone here is almost definitely going to die soon... ]

[ Spoilers two people died soon. Hikage laughs though, then goes to look around the room. ]

Ah, it's too bad a shoemaker was never invited here... [ If Saphir paid attention to Hikage's usual dress, he typically wears these ridiculous disasters with a minute heel. But as it's Foundation uniform week he's wearing black boots with a slight heel. Because the heel is important! ]

You already have a necklace, but you could always accessorize more. [ Looking through the jewellery, hum hum. ]

That would have been nice. These are comfortable and all, but they leave a lot to be desired as far as style goes.

[ Frankly, even if Saphir isn't really used to picking out his own clothes and accessories, he is used to his assigned uniforms having a lot more flair than this Foundation one. Prior to this regulation crap, he was wearing thigh high boots with a one inch heel, so. He had no complaints about Hikage's taste in footwear.

He comes over to see what kind of jewelry is under consideration. ]

Like a bracelet or something?

[ He actually has one of those!! But it looks a little more like a watch, and it's usually hidden under his sleeve, and has nothing to do with fashion. ]

[ Not enough rainbow or butterflies. ]

Mmhmm. [ After some more searching through what's here, he picks out this bangle with a red inlay and minus that weird gem in the middle. ]

Something like this, maybe? It's a bit luxurious for weekly wear, but you could always wear it for special occasions, like trials.

[ Why is that a special occasion for Hikage? See everything tomorrow. ]

He leans in to get a closer look. ]

Oh! That does look nice. [ Hikage has such good taste... ] It would get in the way of working on any of my projects, obviously, but if I'm not doing that...

Right. But there's no sense in speculation when we could see how it looks on you right now. [ Mind if he just takes your wrist, Saphir? ]

Ah- Yes, if you'd like to.

[ Of course, you can take any part of him!!! He rolls up his sleeve a bit and holds his arm out... ]

[ In that case, he gingerly takes Saphir's wrist and slides the bangle on. His touch is light but firm, and he lets the contact linger for just a second or two longer than he has to. ]

Well? What do you think?

[ ...He wouldn't have minded a few seconds more, honestly, but-- anyway.

He holds his hand up, turning his wrist slightly in the light. It's a little bigger than he was expecting, or maybe he was just underestimating how skinny his wrist is, but it does still look nice. He probably wouldn't have ever picked it out on his own, which makes it... more exciting, somehow? ]

I like it! It's a bit of a darker look than I've tried before...

[ He says, as if he'd really ever worn any jewelry before Crow gave him this necklace. ]

Y-you still think it looks good on?

Dark contrasts the light and makes it all the more brighter. [ Said like he speaks from experience, which holds true in many ways. ]

I do. It's better to save for special occasions though, where it can really shine.
