RECORDING 13: THE FIFTH WEEK.

A fifth week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. It's practically routine at this point, isn't it?
Routine, also is the feeling when you wake up - it's clear the Miasma has gotten even thicker. Now everyone is at level 4 - barring the two 'lucky' negators among you, you are all suffering the effects, your eyes flashing a deep, dark purple when experiencing negative emotion.
Any magic that touches the house itself will corrode over time, just like last week. If a barrier is put in place and touches the floor, walls, or ceiling, in a few hours it will be completely consumed by the miasma and fizzle out. Spells or seals will also give off miasma, and healing is still reduced to even the most powerful of spells only healing minor injuries.
You will not be able to save a grievously injured person from death through spells anymore.
The Temperature has taken another dip. It's now in the 50's, and nippy to need a layer or two. As before, the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.
17 of your number still remain.
...What new horrors await you this week?
conservatory;
[ He's not surprised. It could be the result from of their remaining teammates. Ridiculous.
Also, coincidentally, he brought his notebook with him and he will come closer to join Hikage. ]
Well, I assume you're adequately prepared for our discussion?
no subject
I am, but there's something before we start. You heard Subete yesterday, didn't you?
no subject
It'd be difficult not to hear him, unfortunately. What of it?
[ He'll assume that Hikage has something important to reveal, and so being the gracious and wise king he was, he intended to listen. ]
no subject
He's fond of that saying, apparently. [ Anyway, he folds his hands neatly in his lap. ]
What he did yesterday...I can take more than a guess at what he means. The book he left behind describes his spells and their characteristics. It's... easier to show you. Try writing the word "lose" down onto a piece of paper.
[ Gil will find it's completely distorted Zalgo text if he complies! ]
no subject
[ Well, he'll comply, of course. And wow, wonderful Zalgo text. ]
I've been feeling slightly off since he went ahead with whatever nonsense that was.
I expect you to elucidate more on this and what can be done about it.
no subject
I wouldn't disappoint you, would I? [ He gives Gil a somewhat silly smile. ]
You can look at what he did as essentially corrupting that word, though to be specific he started with the kanji for the concept of loss in Japanese. He did the same thing at trial when he summoned "monsters" into being.
Which means...he's hid the monster of that word somewhere in this house. If we don't find it, it'll gradually erode the concept its made of more and more. I can't tell you exactly how it will progress, but we could essentially lose anything related to well, the word lose.
no subject
[ What another headache...he almost really wanted to bang his head on the wall, but. He supposed it was time to hunt a monster.
He probably also sat down for a little bit as well, so he's now getting up. ]
I should be able to track it down with my capabilities. Letting that thing fester in this house could mean a disaster.
[ For their plans and all that. ]
no subject
Let me show you what it looks like, in case he tried to camouflage it somehow. [ He's gonna borrow your pen and paper Gil and write 迷 which is still zalgo-text'd but probably recognizable enough. ]
That should be it. Judging by what he said yesterday, it's likely hidden in an area with traps, though that's less of a problem for you.
no subject
[ He'll say even though he did feel kind of...not exactly too excited about how that worked out last week. But, he was already thinking of a way to get to it in the first place.
He believed it'd be difficult for him to miss that much magical energy, camouflaged or not. But it'd be helpful to know the symbol as well. ]
I suppose at the very least he did well in that final act of his, since it's given us some information on how to counter this at all.
no subject
He was a resolute kind of person. [ That sounds just a bit too close to a compliment, so he redirects after. ]
I've only shared this with you and no one else, for the record. I could have brought it up in a group setting, but the restrictions on meetings and...everything else, I didn't think it would be smart to do so.
no subject
Maybe out of a sense of graciousness he won't comment on that. But, really it was true. No one could claim the man wasn't someone who faltered, and took action. Except, irritatingly enough, it was not to their favor. ]
You've just finished the book as well, I assume. I'd say I'd doubt anyone else would hold it against you, but hypocrisy can be a concern.
[ Plus he was trying to really lower his expectations after uh, everything from the weekend and last week. ]
no subject
[ A nod though. ]
Not to mention that most of them would probably disregard any information if they knew it came from him.
no subject
[ He could only almost sigh, really. But he's done enough of that right now. ]
I don't doubt it, though once I've carried out what I plan to do, proving that information has been useful shouldn't be ... impossible. But, we'll see.
[ He'd have also said 'it shouldn't be too difficult', but he was wary about that, considering. ]
