RECORDING 12: THE FOURTH TRIAL.

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where all the trials so far have taken place. As all of you enter, the Vessels are there - Flayn in her darkly pious glory, and Haku, ever the perfect shadow at her side.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessels...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

No one's going to exactly admit to that.

We need to start looking at ways to find the killer. Given the fact that they were drunk, the possibility of them getting careless has risen. Sissel stated that gunpowder was found on Ango's hand, so it's possible we could locate some on the killer's hands or clothing.

I can do a check if we want. They probably washed off, but we won't know for sure unless we check for it.

I can check for the smell of the fluid too.

Some people confessed to having magic last time, didn't they? We can at least narrow down our options that way.

You did mention that barriers were possibly involved as well.

[ So even if those people didn't come out screaming they could do magic in the previous trails... ]

I know Subete and Gin can make barriers. Unless Ango fired 4 shots into walls, I think it's likely they had some way of protecting themselves. There wasn't much to hide behind in those hallways too.

Wouldn't Gin have been able to kill Ango with just one single attempt? He was fast. If there was any pursuing, I'm pretty sure Ango wouldn't have been able to get away.

Probably. Don't know if he'd try electrocuting with that machine, either.

And seeing as no one so far seemed to be injured, we could presume that the killer did well in protecting actually protecting themselves, which could mean at the least, we have two main suspects...or one if we remember the nature of Gin's powers.

The miasma is unfortunately having some effect on my powers, so I can't entirely rely on the consistency of my barriers these days. That's why I had Ichimaru-san accompany me on exploration this week.

That’s true. It would make it rather hard to give chase to someone who’s trying to escape though.
