RECORDING 11: THE FOURTH MURDER.

A fourth week, and this is now definitely routine. Waking on friday, with the knowledge deep down that your number has yet again decreased.

You must still pull yourself from your bed, and discover who is now forever gone.

[ Hmm. Well he'll look at the wiring without touching it, is it frayed or cut? He probably needs to inspect this roomba up close, but there's a better person for that job, particularly this morning. ]

[There are a pair of surprisingly clean work gloves shoved in with the rest of them that gil might notice.

the wires have been cut, with some stripping/ fraying around the edges. enough to make it so that the wires are clearly exposed and potentially dangerous.]

[ While we're waiting for Saphir to weep tears of distress, he'll kind of...check if there's any traces of magic he could sense in the room. ]

I kid of course. Anyway he'll head off and uh assuming there's nowhere else or nothing he'll spot as he came out of the Lab despite being very observant, he'll set off to probably check other rooms for traces of magic. ]

...okay, this is not nearly as bad as the entire lab being rendered unusable or something at least, so definitely not a worst case scenario, BUT HIS ROOMBA!!! ]

[ He's also still in whatever wrinkled clothes his drunk ass fell asleep in after the party, with uncombed hair, so this is just a very sad picture all around.

Is there anything else he can notice here? Were any parts removed or anything? Does it look like it was used after the wire was cut? ]

[Oddly, it looks as if only pretty minimal changes that don’t mess too much how it works were done. So no, no parts removed, sans the wires sticking out. There is a slight...almost pork-like smell on them, though it'd be inadvisable to get too close without turning the machine off.

You gotta kill your baby to fix it, saphir.]

[ THOUGH HAVING WORKED WITH PLENTY OF BATTLEFIELD CORPSES WITH VARIOUS MORTAL WOUNDS, heeeee's pretty sure of what it actually is. Especially if no parts were actually taken out of it.

[The roomba is dead.

Still, beyond that - and the dents someone made while tripping on it, as well as the few pant fibers stuck in it's wheels, which might explain why it wasn't moving - There doesn't seem to be anything else wrong with it.

Fix up those wirings and clean up the wheels, and it should be fine.

You don't think there's anything else you can glean from the roomba.]

[ Well, the fixable part is a relief.



...he's taking it with him in case someone has a grudge against it now.

Is there anything visibly out of place in the rest of the lab that he'd notice that hasn't already been looked at? ]

[ Once Saphir is done mourning the roomba, Hikage will give the lab one last sweep. There's no typical chemicals, but what about the motoroil and other fluids in the lab-- is there anything disturbed about those?

He was in here with Saphir this week and he's got a pretty good memory assuming it's not about his pre Foundation life. ]

[ He can find motoroil, hydraulic fluid, lubricating oil, and the like. None of them appear to be disturbed at a glance, but he might need to check further to be sure. ]

[ More detailed investigation it is! He'll pick the bottles up carefully and hold them up to the light and generally weigh them in his hands just to see if anything is odd here. ]

[ He won't be able to tell if there's anything different from holding them up to the light or weighing them. ]

[ Well he's not a chemist, but he has read a few books on alchemy bc that's what other mansion had as reading materials. So he'll open each carefully and smell it, wafting the fumes towards his nose to make a certain chem TA proud. ]
