The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....glory? It's hard to tell.

The doors close, and he speaks up, this time reclining on one of the couches in the room.

"You know the drill - Since one of you have died during the game, it's your responsibility to try and vote someone out. You have six hours to talk about it, but then-"

He taps on a box on the coffee table in front of him, labeled 'VOTES'.

"-you'll have to put in your vote so someone can be punished. You all saw what happens when you refuse to play, right?"

He leans back, placing his hands behind his head.

"So get to it."

As he says that, music begins to play in the room...

Makoto has nothing to do with Yoshi-kun's death and you know it.

I know that she has everything to do with it. After all, no one else bee-lined to accuse me for something as small as "reacting strangely". And even after I explained that I rarely act "normal", she still continued doing so.

[ a pause ]

And besides, I don't kill. It's too inefficient to waste a human life, especially one that belonged to a friend.

Has anyone brought up the possibility that they may both be mafia?

Why would they both be? That doesn't make any sense.

To cast suspicion off of one of them. Let's say Makoto is a mafia member, theoretically. If she were to accuse Flat of being the Barghest, then she would demonstrate herself to be trustworthy and not garner any further suspicion.

[She runs a shaky hand through her hair, frowning.] It's just a thought. Nothing concrete, though.

I... I guess it's possible. [Because everything's possible.]

But it seems like way too risky of a move for them. Every monster we catch makes things harder for the rest of them.

That would be a foolish move. And this seems only based off the opinion that it’s more suspicious for a townsperson to make an argument than anything I’ve actually done.

Flat Escardos doesn't kill.

Would it even matter to you whether I am or not? After all, you're covering for a killer.

[IMMEDIATELY stepping closer, eyes blazing]

Whatever you are, whoever you are, whatever reason you're doing this, Barghest. . . we're going to stop you.

Mm, then you shouldn't act so selfishly and stop protecting Makoto. [ he doesn't seem shaken at all by akira's demeanor. if anything, he looks...empty. as if his eyes were merely holes that extended for eternity. ] Someone like her is a true danger to humankind's future.

If Makoto were possessed, I guarantee you I'd fight tooth and nail to free her again. Flat-san may not be Makoto, but I'm doing the same for him.

If you don't let Flat-san go, if you don't give him back control of his body, then we'll make you.

[ there's a moment of silence after that last sentence, not much different from a computer trying to process a lengthy amount of information. perhaps that's all that flat escardos is, a computer-like being that operates to the will of the root. or-- ] Flat Escardos' body is not for you to take. [She's absolutely not trained or probably fast enough for this but her whip was already out after all the shenanigans and CRACK! she's going for either snaking it around his wrist to stop him or just throwing off his aim by hitting him.]

[ immediately drawing his blade and getting in between flat and whoever he's aiming his hand at ]

[Shirou's suddenly holding the swords he had when they all arrived and he steps forward.]

Don't even think about it.

[and Akira's thief instincts kick into high gear as he leaps back, as blue fire whirls around his body, as his wardrobe is replaced with a black coat and a white mask, as a 16-bit Satanael rises in the air above his back. he stays crouched on the ground, ready to dodge whatever attack Flat-- no, the Barghest-- throws his way]

And this is my calling card to you, Barghest! I'll steal it right back from you, if that's what it takes!

[Oh hell no.

With a snarl, Atsushi jumps right in, putting himself between Flat and Akira. Like hell is he going to let this ghost-dog hurt anyone here.

His eyes also flash yellow as they narrow, showing a form that hasn't been shown here yet. And they're daring the Barghest to make a move, to even try attacking anyone.]

[STANDING AT THE READY IN CASE ANYONE NEEDS HELP]

[At Flat's posture, Rean draws his tachi although he doesn't make to jump in front of Akira. There's enough people doing that, at any rate, so he'll just keep his distance and try to quietly circle behind instead, carefully watching for any sudden movements.]
