TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....glory? It's hard to tell.

The doors close, and he speaks up, this time reclining on one of the couches in the room.

"You know the drill - Since one of you have died during the game, it's your responsibility to try and vote someone out. You have six hours to talk about it, but then-"

He taps on a box on the coffee table in front of him, labeled 'VOTES'.

"-you'll have to put in your vote so someone can be punished. You all saw what happens when you refuse to play, right?"

He leans back, placing his hands behind his head.

"So get to it."

As he says that, music begins to play in the room...

[ Inaba's leaving her tablet here for y'all to.... look at the photos if you want to but she's still gonna warn all your asses that it's gory as all heck.

Anyway, one photo shows bloody drag marks that lead to the left side of the resort.

And another photo shows Yoshi Nanase in an oversized jacket, his face first in his lap with no eyes. Oh, and did we forget that his intestines are spilling over his head? Paying close attention there seems to have been something eating his intestines, because there's bitemarks all over them. Oh, and a vertical gut wound, from the lower stomach to the upper portion of the ribs. Or you know. A classic gut removal cut. Yay....

There's also oversized boots next to the body. ]

If nobody did, I'd bet the monster fucking ate it.

It would make sense to destroy them if they were worried about someone using his power.

Either that or they wanted them because they themselves can make use of them.

I heard of those who can 'steal' abilities, but not like this...

[He murmurs quietly, crossing his arms almost like he's holding himself]

But if they had befriended Yoshi, wouldn't that have been better?! I don't think he would have said no!

[She definitely didn't get around to looking at these yesterday, and skipping breakfast was the Correct Choice, because she goes super pale and has to take a few moments to collect herself and a good amount of nausea before she can look over the pictures properly.

It's really great that they're probably going to get used to these things if they survive! Maybe!]

Did the killer just -- just leave him like that?

No.

The jacket was closed and the head was on top of his body, covered up by a hood, so I couldn't tell who it was immediately until I took the hood off.

Did they cut his head off and... disembowel him, and then tuck everything back into the jacket? Why?

They sure fucking did.

Maybe we were right and the people are possessed by the monsters and have no control of what they're doing... and did that out of shock, instead of just hiding the body parts.

It was a pretty bloody scene, though, right? They would have had to throw away all their clothes afterwards, along with that knife Ripley-san is talking about.

[So getting themselves even more bloody might have just been part of the package, but she can't imagine it. Urgh.]

I mean, if it's a dog, maybe they didn't have clothes. They would just have to shower.

I hate to say this, but it might have been for effect. To disturb us.

[ flat had been fortunate enough to not see anything from the crime scene yesterday. in a way, it lessened the strange emotions that came with knowing that yoshi was dead. but now, being able to see it in all its horror...

it's definitely not a very strong emotion, but he definitely looks a few shades paler. ]

Why would they go this far?

[kind of. swallowing thickly as he glances at the crime scene photos as well, expression twisting. he's heard about it, but. . .]

Did they really have a choice?

[by which he means. . . were they really in their right mind, and capable of showing restraint?]

[Ripley studies the images for a few moments, eyes flitting across the screen. She can feel her stomach writhing as she closes her eyes and sighs.]

I'm sorry you had to see that. [Said in a flat tone.] Did anyone happen to find a knife near the crime scene? There there was a knife missing from the kitchen. A clever, I think. The Chef seemed distressed.

There weren't any weapons at the crime scene from my recollection. So either the culprit still has it with them or has discarded it by this point.

If any weapons were used they must be gone by now.

[No point in keeping weapons that'll incriminate you]

It's pretty easy to hide a knife. Chances are, it's still in the resort somewhere.

[Just...all bloody and stuff.]

[ Finally, Roxas is having to look at the tablet, I guess....welp, that sure is a body. Okay.

He's going to need a moment, he'll even close his eyes for a bit, because that is absolutely an appalling sight. ]

...they put the winter coat and oversized boots from the ski place on him?

Not the boots. Just the coat.

[Well... this sure is a thing. He frowns at the images, quickly averting his eyes from the tablet when he finishes scrolling through all of them. It takes a while before he says anything.]

I don't get it. What was even the point of all this? It's one thing to want to take him out, but...
