TRIAL

The morning seemed so far away yesterday - yet, it also seems too soon when morning comes and you are all yet again ushered to the third floor by The Lady. The Captain is there, in all of his....glory? It's hard to tell.

The doors close, and he speaks up, this time reclining on one of the couches in the room.

"You know the drill - Since one of you have died during the game, it's your responsibility to try and vote someone out. You have six hours to talk about it, but then-"

He taps on a box on the coffee table in front of him, labeled 'VOTES'.

"-you'll have to put in your vote so someone can be punished. You all saw what happens when you refuse to play, right?"

He leans back, placing his hands behind his head.

"So get to it."

As he says that, music begins to play in the room...

The jacket was closed and the head was on top of his body, covered up by a hood, so I couldn't tell who it was immediately until I took the hood off.

Did they cut his head off and... disembowel him, and then tuck everything back into the jacket? Why?

They sure fucking did.

Maybe we were right and the people are possessed by the monsters and have no control of what they're doing... and did that out of shock, instead of just hiding the body parts.

It was a pretty bloody scene, though, right? They would have had to throw away all their clothes afterwards, along with that knife Ripley-san is talking about.

[So getting themselves even more bloody might have just been part of the package, but she can't imagine it. Urgh.]

I mean, if it's a dog, maybe they didn't have clothes. They would just have to shower.

But they had a knife. He was cut up and not just mauled, right?

[dereban]

I mean.

We don't know if the monster dog has paws or actual hands. Maybe it's like a werewolf and they can actually knife him while in that form...?

You expect a monster to have precision filleting skills.

We can't deny that it could be a possibility?

[There's a moment of thought because this is getting messy, no pun intended.]

... That's just making more work for themselves, isn't it? A knife is something else they have to hide. If they had the option not to use a knife -- especially with Nanashi -- then it would make more sense for them not to.

But on the other hand, if they didn't need clothes, they'd have to come inside to shower. Was there any blood inside?

Yeah, that's definitely weird...

Maybe we're completely off base with the who, then. It might be the third monster that killed Nanase. Also there wasn't any blood inside, as far as I could tell.

There's one more thing, actually. The boots. Why were they there?

[Their clothes theory should probably include the boots.]

I'd assume that it was to hide their own footprints, but then why. . . would they just leave it where the body was in that case. . .

Were there bootprints near the scene?

I sure didn't see any.

I only saw the drag marks.

There were some right in front of the lobby, but. I accidentally messed them up when I ran outside.

Judging by the size, they were probably used to hide what the killer's feet really looked like, anyway. I wonder if they wanted to hide their monster feet?

That might be possible.

The Jorogumo was probably too obvious to hide, especially if they wanted to use their web on Nanashi. But the other two monsters might be interested in keeping themselves hidden as completely as possible...

I don't think they needed any more effect to this...
