RECORDING 8: THE THIRD MURDER.

A third week, and this is beginning to become routine. Waking on friday, with the knowledge deep down that your number has yet again decreased.

But you must still pull yourself from your bed, and discover who is now forever gone...

As you all rise and look towards a new day, the Miasma laps at your heels...

...And around whatever corpse now lingers in the hallways...

[Is that raccoon still here...? She hasn't seen it yet.]

[Unfortunately, upon stepping near the room, the unmistakable stench of blood can be smelled.

...As well as a smell of musty fur under all of that. Do you dare enter?]

[ Great, it appeared that they were likely about to discover a body. ]

Hmph. As expected, some fool ended up going along with that creature's incentive...

[ He'll make a displeased expression at the smell. But he'll proceed to uh move so that he's in the doorway so he could take a look from out here into the room just to make sure there was no additional funny business. Or they don't walk into a pool of blood, because dirtying his shoes would be so unfortunate? ]

She doesn't want to do this again. She doesn't want to do this again.

But... looking away won't change what's happened. She takes a shaky breath and peeks around Gilgamesh, hands knotted in a white-knuckled grip.]

[The room is, frankly speaking, a mess - There's damage around the inside of the doorway, along with a shredded mess of taxidermied animals. Whatever took place in here, it was violent.

As they stand in the doorway, they'll notice a blood spatter that ends in the trophy room that seems to be coming from down the hall.

...But...that might all be noticed later, because first...

Among all the heads on the side wall - skewed or knocked down- one immediately draws attention. The reason for this...is extremely simple.

There's someone lying on the ground below it, face up.]

[ ... Well.

That sure wasn't a pretty sight. He'll keep in mind the blood splatter as well. ]

You are free to do as you please, as long as it's nothing careless.

[ Gilgamesh will step into the room, making to keep vigilant and steps light as he headed closer so he could properly identify this someone. Who was it? And do they appear to be still breathing? ]

[If need be, she can run for the first aid kit...

But who is it?]

[Unfortunately, as Gilgamesh gets closer, there's no mistaking that the person lying on the ground is dead. After all, with such a gaping hole in her chest, how could she not be? With her lying there, so still, with her eyes closed, if one ignored the massive wound and blood puddle, one could almost think she was sleeping...

But, she isn't.

Flayn is dead.]

[ That's unfortunate.

As soon as he had begun to come closer he realized that it'd be fruitless to hope that the young woman was alive. Seteth was going to be inconsolable, likely enough. ]

Start taking a closer look around the room. I doubt this is something a mongrel like you can handle.

[ Unless she thought it was, in which case, feel free?

Anyway, just looking at her right now, what other details would he be able to make out about her body? For example, how big is the gaping hole, and did it look caused by an item or some kind of large projectile? ]

[Oh god, Flayn...

Seteth is going to be inconsolable, she thinks, distantly. The horror of this moment is something she struggles against with her while being; before it lands, she has to take advantage of this numb shock. She examines the room for signs of what happened and anything that doesn’t belong here. And... is anything missing?]

[Nothing will seem immediately out of place Though with her careful inspection, she'll note One of the moose head's antlers is covered in bits of gore and blood. As for the rest, it's simply too destroyed in here to get an idea of what happened beyond 'someone really went at it in here.'

Gil will be able to notice the hole is rather big, though a look at the moose antler....he'd have to flip her over to confirm that this is what caused such a wide wound. Regardless, the hole is on the left side of her chest.

There's also assorted cuts and bruises on her body, though they seem to be partially healed.]

[ Only a King like himself could barely blink at such a type of grievous wound.

Before flipping her over so he could discover hole(y) things later, do the cuts look like they came from something like a knife, or sword? As for the bruises, does the impact match something more like a weapon or something that would be caused by strikes from someone's hand/feet? ]

[She notes all this down with a hand that trembles, faintly. She inspects the damage around the inside of the doorway in greater detail, as well as the shredded mess of taxidermied animals.

What looks like it could have caused this? Large blades, blunt force, smaller weapons?]

[It's....seriously hard to tell on the animals. Shit is wrecked, and it didn't hold up very well to whatever shredded them.

The damage on the inside of the doorway looks to be gouge marks, as if done by claws or teeth.

She feels like that's all she'll be able to get from this room...beyond the body, of course.]

[One last detail, for reference's sake: about how big would the teeth and claws appear?]

[They actually seem like they're from something small and thin, yet sharp...and since this is Caster Gil, he'll be able to notice that the cuts are from something like wind magic.

The impacts seem to be from things directly hitting her, not practiced strikes.]

[ Hm...

...that's interesting. On both counts, really.

While he's in here, he's just going to check the room for something. Would he be able to sense another type of magic that was used in here besides wind magic? ]

[Yes, actually - There's also the indication that holy magic was used, most likely for Flayn to heal herself.

There is also a terrible sense of demonic energy in the room - though Gil will be able to tell that both the holy magic and the demonic energy similar, but...off. It's as if it originated from the same source.]

[ Though he wouldn't know for sure, he supposed.

Well, he'll turn back to her body. Let's go about flipping her over now. Would there be anything else he could observe after he's turned her over besides the previously mentioned details? ]

[Well, just that the wound was definitely made due to that gore-splatted antler.

...However, how that he's seen both sides, he'd be able to tell something very important.

She doesn't have a heart. in fact, it's like something used to be there, but isn't anymore.]

[ Well then, someone decided to steal her heart and not in the fun, Phantom Thieves way.

Well, let's make sure we don't miss anything, though, and just...roll her back over as she was before. He'll lightly touch her forehead and check for something like additional head wounds that wouldn't be obvious, before seeing if she was holding onto anything in her hands as well. ]

At his skill level, this is all gil can glean from her body.

Might wanna go get a doctor if you want any last details.]

[ Okay, time to go and find a Doctor.

...His first choice would naturally be Romani, actually. But he will accost Saphir as well if he's available. ]

King Gilgamesh, do you need me to look over anything?

I do. This is something beyond even someone like myself.

So you will accompany me to Flayn's body and see what else could be discerned.
