RECORDING 7: THE THIRD WEEK.

A third week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. The final week completely covered by everyone's rations, though with proper meting out, you'll be able to make it stretch until after week 4. It seems as if everyone will have to go without a few meals here and there..
To make things worse, when you wake up - it's clear the Miasma has gotten thicker. Everyone, save those still protected either by their powers or items they brought with them, is now even more deeply affected by the curse. Arguments will be flaring up more, along with negative thoughts and feelings...and even more worrying Is that any magic that touches the house itself will corrode over time. If a barrier is put in place and touches the floor, walls, or ceiling, in half a day it will be completely consumed by the miasma and fizzle out. Spells or seals will also corrode, and even personal healing abilities have been halved.
The Temperature has dropped, just a bit - down to the mid to low 60's. Strange, isn't it? As before, the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.
25 of your number still remain.
...What new horrors await you this week?

SAVE FAILED
Unfortunately, as soon as they all make it on the stairs, the stairs themselves sink down for a moment before slatting flat, making it so that they all suddenly slide down on the now smooth surface due to gravity. There are no rails to hold onto, and it's narrow enough that if Ky had been able to react fact enough to wedge his legs against the sides, he could have braced them with his body.
But, unfortunately, he wasn't. Down, down, down they go, seeing just a hint of a cobwebbed room before landing in a heap in a pit that's about 6 feet tall, with jagged looking stone walls all around them.
The top of the pit is open - and for now, it seems like they're relatively safe...]
no subject
Anyways, a cobwebbed room, is it? For the time being, while she works to extricate herself from the pileup, she focuses most of her effort on her Enemy Identification ability. She wants to know the exact second that it picks up something new.]
no subject
Oh No I'm falling!Soon as he felt the stairs sank - he realized they made a terrible mistake. Tried as he might, he was not quite fast enough to brace them all as they fell.
jagged walls... that's not good. He wiggles out from the pile]
Get up! We need to climb out now!
no subject
[Nothing to do but start climbing, really. It's six feet, it shouldn't be terribly difficult! If only he was a bit more athletic, really, haha]
no subject
However, in the space it takes for them to get to their feet, Those same jagged walls begin to move forward.
You're all stuck in a crusher trap, it seems - so think and move fast.]

[With that, suddenly a large number of sword begin to appear behind Nanaka, and...]
White Camellia!
[The swords launch themselves at a wall, impaling themselves into it.]
Use these!
[And with that... Nanaka hops up onto the hilt of a sword, and continues... "climbing" the swords out in that manner.]

SUCCESS
With the swords in the wall, it becomes much more easy to get out of the pit. However, since the two of the boys aren't as used to being a sword magical girl, they'll have to risk climbing out...

....Which both of them manage to do! The pit closes shut with a dramatic clunk behind them, as they get their bearings and find themselves in the intensely cobwebbed room they spotted earlier...]

Hold onto me and we'll pull him up!
no subject
Oh, good!
[He ended not being that good at climbing with swords. How do you step on these without slipping? How did those two do that so easily?! Emil climbs, but every step was slow, like he feared slipping. The walls are closing, but he still is going a bit too slow.
The help Ky gives is a godsend. Emil grabs onto it with a hand, while with the other he grabs onto the edge of the pit, trying to contribute in hoisting himself up. Chances are Ky saved his life, really. Emil gets out of the pit right when it was about to close, the hole shutting and trapping the tip of his boot. Yelping, he pulls, freeing his foot before the stone walls crush the tip of the boot]
That was way too close!
[All toes seem to be intact! He hopes so. He'll check later when he's not in an evil basement of doom! One hand has a cut, but it doesn't seem that bad, he'll get over it]
Where are we now?
no subject
I believe this would be... The basement.
[That doesn't answer anything, of course, but...]
no subject
[He doesn't immediately rehook his sword back to his belt as re-creates the little ball lightning to shed some light on things]
Damn it, I should've checked the stairs properly.
no subject
As for Ky, he'll see That there's not much in this room - it looks mostly like an empty, dusty space - save for what looks like a few papers and a diary laying on the floor.]
no subject
[Which he proceeds to do. Any obvious pathways to get out of here?
no subject
[For the time being, Nanaka will be checking out the stairs we slid in from and looking for a way to disable the trap on it.]
no subject
no subject
However, when Nanaka goes to check them out...oddly enough, it seems like now they've been locked in place. No matter how much weight she puts on them, they stay as firm and straight as ever.]
no subject
[Let's... check out that diary, then.]
no subject
[He'll go over the newspapers]

Ky, however, finds the papers aren't newspapers - they're torn pages from a book, written in thin, spidery looking handwriting:]
My previous home fell victim to the floods...it was horrible, but I managed to escape with my life, though I've lost a place to live.
As I am still a young, healthy woman, I am certain that I will be able to recover from this awful loss...but I should find a far better place to live, away from the water.
I will have to travel for some time, but I believe it will be for the best. There should be plenty of food to find where I am going, at the very least.
[That's all on that page - the second one continues where the first left off, though there's no dates.]
I'm finally at my new home, though it took a few days travel and preparation. I am tired, but I've already had a nice meal and settled in as much as I could. MY new home is out of the way, I think - and as I suspected, there's plenty of game to go around here, so I should never truly go hungry.
On my way here, I noticed a particularly handsome man staring at me. Though I hurried away at the time, I certainly wouldn't mind if he came calling in a bit - though perhaps not so soon after settling in. He did look quite fine, though...certainly a man healthy enough to also catch my eyes!
i shall leave it at this for now, and look forward to more peaceful days of living quietly off the lay of the land.
[That's all there is for now, though.]

[Well then, time to grab onto Ky, who is lifting his sword, which Emil is holding... Best not to think about how it all works, and just help pull.]
